I strongly recommend you play it on hard or extreme level to see the tough (but fair) AI in action. The AI is indeed superb.

Yes it was very short, but enough to make we want to buy the damn game now LOL.
I had it set to 1024x768 and everything medium and it was just barely playable.

P4 3.0E

BFG 6800GT
This game is definately in need of some heavy duty computer hardware.

EDIT: DUH!!!!!!! I had the Nvidia control panel settings to 8XAA SuperSampling and 16X AF. Gonna try it again with no AA and 8xAF in the control panel, and 4x AA in the game options.

Yah, much better now. Fraps tells me I'm getting 25 low to 39 high with 4xAA and 8XAF 1024x768. Now its easily playable. Whew!! That was a close one. Started to panic. ;)

You can mess with a LOT in game opitions, the game is short. It's really fun though :)

Not especially impressed. Runs about the same as Battlefield 2, maybe a bit slower.

Frankly it felt like Doom 3 2 :p

Runs A LOT slower than BF2 for me. I get great frames at 1920x1200, 4xAA/16xAF in BF2. Performance was lackluster in Fear for me. At 1600x1200, everything set to high, no AA/but 16xAF. No soft shadows on. I was getting between 25-50 frames. Sometimes more in very dark areas, etc. I didnt play much, to get into much action, so it could dip lower than that.

I am getting tired of these new graphical effects, that cant be used with older, commonly used, and very much liked effects. Cant use softshadows with AF? Ugh. One thing is pretty funny, the readme says to not play in any other res than 1024x768 with ANY card out today.

One thing is for sure.. this game is going to be scary. The first 2 mins of gameplay, its already scary. I dont know why, but that little girl is scary... I keep on telling myself its a game, but its like a movie, it can still scare you. Her shadow, her giggle,!

i can run at 1280*960 no soft shadows/aa/af but everything else except textures(i have textures on med...otherwise i get lots of stuttering) on high

if i drop down to 800*600 with 2x AA and 2x AF then i can turn on soft shadows and still have it playable. thats with a 6800le 1gig of ram & a p4 2.53ghz

ran pretty well on my comp at 1024x768 with maximum video settings, although performance wasn't very pleasing at 1600x1200. It does look pretty damn good though.

1024x768 (can't figure out how to make this higher), full details, soft shadows, 4xAA, 16xAF, supersampling. Ran pretty well but got choppy at times. Bullet time is cool, but gets annoying...I prefer Max Payne 2 bullet time :p

I played through it with the auto detected settings , 1024x768 w/ Max video settings and No vsync , I just bumped up the refresh rate to 120HZ to eliminate screen tearing.

Demo itself was pretty good , definately a lot more fun than Doom 3 and it looks great.
