i finished the final checkout click at 12:04,

i got the deal with 2.4ghz, 128mb,40gig,geoforce4video,15"flat panel screen, with sales tax fer michigan at 714 each,

subtract 100 rebate,if it ever comes => 614 cost

sell 15" flat screen on efay
at worst case price of 240
=> 614-240 = err,new math,,ugh, about $ 374.end cost,

yep, thats $ 374.end cost, plus ebates check of 2%,if ebates thingy works,

bit of advice, i would suggest the 1504. If you put the two side by side you will see a world of difference....

I deliberately locked myself away from the internet last night so I would not order one. I expect/hope that Dell will run the same deal (probably slightly better if the trend continues) again in a few weeks.

As far as shipping goes, my sister got in on the last deal (4500, mid-September). It seemed like it took forever to get her confirmation email, but the system itself arrived within a day or two thereafter. I think it took about one week between order and delivery to Connecticut.

Yea, I am glad I held off too and just went to bed to avoid the temptation. I know they will run at least one more great deal before xmas and hopefully in Dell Home so I can avoid the taxes, plus LCD screens are dropping in price fast so their should really be some great deals this xmas season.

OK I ordered the bare system and skipped on getting any monitor at all and dropped to 128 MB of memory. I stayed with XP Pro so my price before rebates or discounts was 689. I got two emails from Dell both with different final prices so I emailed them about it this morning. While I waited for their response I went to Dell and configured the system exactly as I did yesterday and the price came out to 669 before discounts and rebates. Apparently there has been a slight price change since yesterday. Add this 20 price difference plus the new -50 offer that dell just started today on the 4550's, + the 10% and 5% coupons that I applied yesterday and for me this equals around $75.00 in savings.

Has anybody else noticed this?

I'll be selling my 15" LCD, but first I'll try locally for around $280. With exception of Dell's 15% on peripherals, I couldn't find anything below that price. I hope the e-bay prices don't dive. I don't think anybody in this forum will be interested, but I'm near Memphis, TN, just in case
