I don't normally go to cosmetic departments to look around. My wife buys me the knock-off Neutrogena from Walmart or Target. It's pretty standard for clearing oil and leaving my skin feeling alright...but it does have that salicylic acid as it's active ingredient.

I was killing time in the Portland airport and I bought some Kiehl's face wash on a return trip home. It has a little grittiness to it, scrubs to a lather, and smells maybe a little minty. I recommend it for facial hair.

I am surprised that no one uses the old tag line of "Don't hate me because I am beautiful" from using those expensive face wash products yet. :D

In my opinion, expensive face wash does not do good or help you out you can go for a simple face wash but a better face serum for dry skin will surely work.

Merely being beautiful and naturally fit doesn't automatically remove greasy facial buildup from eating all the chicken wings I consume.

I've been about a full year now on bar soap just for the nooks and crannies; no more full body washing for me! I use the cheap Biore-like "charcoal" stuff from Target, every other day or so, to wash the face. My lustrous Fabio hair gets shampoo every 3 or so days.

Going without soap has basically erased all instances of dry skin, redness, itching, etc.

Here's an easy read on the history of the soap industry and how they bamboozled the world (though it took them several decades), into using this thing called "soap" daily and then, years later, when problems that never really existed in humanity suddenly appeared due to use of these same products, like psoriasis and other dry skin maladies (including the more aggressive acnes), the industry then had to invent more products to remedy the very problems that they created--"skin lotion and moisturizers"...things that the human animal absolutely never needs. ....it's basically like Perdue Pharma getting humans hooked on their oxycontin then developing the drugs to remedy their oxy-induced constipation and to ween them off of their deadly addictions.

what a scam!

I had oily skin since the 1980's. Tried it all including acutane. Best thing I ever did was stop washing it religiously per week and changing my diet to one of mostly veggies.

If you want to be kind to your skin, eat healthy, drink lots of water, and stay out of the sun and excessive wind. Eat healthy includes getting a sufficient amount of fat in your diet.

I wash my face with mild detergent, same as I use for dishes and hands, but sparingly. That works for me because I've never had dry skin.
