Getting back to my original point, apparently some skins lay eggs, some hatch their eggs internally, and some have a mammal-like placenta.

Okay, so what?

Imagine if humans laid eggs.

What creature on earth, besides this one, is observed to lay eggs and give birth to live, developed young?

Think about it this way. Let's say your IQ sits right at the 50% mark. That means that every 2nd person you meet is going to be dumber than you are.

The smarter you are, the better the odds are that the person you're staring at is going to be dumber than you are.

I've met a LOT of dumb people and I'm going to say that about 90% of them were in the church body.

Okay, now we're getting some where. Church people are dumb and your superiority complex comes from hanging around them. Am I getting it right?

Sigh. Typical Christian.

Wht not address my point? Why do you think that you're so clever, and most others, especially church people, are so stupid?

You must be grateful for stupid people because they apparently feed your ego.

I'm down with observable evolution.

Just don't make it go too fast, as I don't want those little skinks to go Jurassic Park on my ass in 10 years.

I thought radical, rapid evolution was a no-no in modern evolutionary theory, though, discounting human intervention (which I guess would make it genetic engineering)?

You haven't heard of Goldschmidt's Hopeful Monster Theory?

It's not that he thinks he's so clever, it's that you simply are not.

Hey Nik! Let me try!

Humans don't lay eggs. I can't imagine it.

But you can imagine an invisible sky being that magically farts out the universe one day. Then makes man out of some muck and everything else exactly the way it is now.

And your evidence supporting this is.....?

a bunch of religious texts written in the bronze age.

congratz on your debating skillz.

I'm posting from a Mensa meeting. I'm sitting between two guys. I just told the one to my left he's dumber than a door nail. I don't think he appreciated the remark.

Please link all the threads I start trying to show proof that evolution is true.

I like how you stuff words into my mouth about what I'm trying to post about, too.

:colbert:

Macro-evolution -- the development of entirely new species from existing ones, such as dinosaurs evolving into birds -- has no indisputable evidence.

I would like to see your "proof" that macroevolution is true.

If macroevolution is so patently obvious and true, surely you can explain the evidence to me.

And please, don't tell me Piltdown Man.

Indisputabe? For those who cling to a biblical time frame for the universe, every piece of contrary evidence is disputable.

I would like to have you lay out your alternative theory to macroevolution and show why it is a more likely description of the way life came to be and changed over time as recorded in the fossil evidence.

The theory of evolution as we know it today is certainly not completely right, but it is the best scientific theory we have right now.

no seriously. what you are asking is akin to someone not understanding how multiplication works. its so basic but its not something i even want to attempt teach an adult. its not like teaching children because an adult that hasn't grasped that knowledge most likely has some sort of learning disability that i am not qualified to handle.

That's fine that you believe that, and maybe you're right. How do you think macroevolution occured, and what is your evidence for it?

Come on now. Let's not be bashful.

I've told you that I think evolution is the best description of how life came to be as it is today. Let's balance this discussion out by hearing what your theory is.
