Everyone who knows Gingrich dislikes him

I like Gingrich just for the fact he causes those on the left to froth at the mouth and slobber all over themselves.

Damn that's cold. Eating each other now personally. It's gonna be ugly for R's next year.

when you have a s much wealth as gingrich it doesnt matter if people dislike you. Now that he wants to be president though... you better be liked.

I've heard this before. Incredulous, amused disbelief (even outright laughter) at sorry excuses for people like Palin or Perry is somehow perceived by their supporters as irrational fear and hatred, manifesting itself in all manner of physical quirks and hygiene issues.

Really bizarre. I'd love to know what kind of worldview or affliction it takes to warp the view of political opponents into something so detached from reality. I'm guessing it has something to do with hate and ego (just a guess).

We'll be watching ignorant people posting about every time Gingrich passes gas for the months to come. Based on the number of Gingrich threads in this forum one would think the left was more scared of Gingrich than they are of Romney.

Yeah, we're totally terrified. Please go nominate him.

I'm not necessarily a lefty but I do hate republicans. For that reason I LOVE gingrich. He has done as much damage to the republican party as almost anyone. Once the republican party has been completely destroyed hopefully a conservative replacement that isn't full of evil retards will take it's place and this country can thrive again.

You guys regurgitate the same fucked up logic no matter who is the person the article is about. No matter what, the article isnt about what the article is about, its about liberals being afraid.

lol. smart.

Thank you for saying the first thought I had when I read that post. Jesus they said it about Palin, Cain, Perry, Bachmann. I just can't understand why so many on the right actually believe this garbage. Is it a coping mechanism to somehow make these candidates seem more than they are to deal with the disillusionment of what is actually available to vote for?

Those four listed weren't criticised for anything less than the reason they would be absolutely horrible for the office. Gingrich makes 5.

I tend to think it's because there is a view of liberals as the enemy, not so much about the candidate themselves. Having liberals hate someone is a positive in and of itself that has nothing to do with whether or not the hate is justified.

The left tends to slobber their hatreds at fascists like Hitler too, but by Londo_jowo reasoning the right should love fascists like Hitler. And by extension, a lot of GOP 2012 Potus candidates, the GOP puts under their own microscope and rejects.

After all, after a brief GOP love affair with Backmamn, Perry, Romney, and then Cain, with all of the above found wanting by the GOP, Newt is just the next lucky man to be put under the GOP microscope. And Newt looks temporary only good by virtue of unexamined comparison.

The real question is, are the dimocrats frothing at the mouth at only Newt, or are the dimocrats laughing their heads off because the GOP does not have one single electable candidate in their entire 2012 POTUS stable.

But that's just it. I don't believe there was much hatred persay. Just genuine shock at the garbage people will latch on to. I didn't hate any of them or their candidacies. I just found them pathetic as potential world leaders.

Well forget the term 'hatred' or whatever, just that anyone who is the target of attacks by liberals is viewed as a positive simply due to the fact that the much hated 'libruls' are after them.

We should totally elect people based on the idea that it would make our political opponents angry.

Michael Moore vs Michelle Malkin, the ideal lineup in the Londo_Jowo world 😉 Also, the White House staff could make monogrammed towels before even knowing the winner.

It's weird though, you hear that kind of logic surprisingly often. And it's not like we're talking about some random idiot on TV...people seriously think it's a good idea to pick the person with the nuclear launch codes based on who the other side doesn't like? I feel like that those sort of comments would go away if those making them knew how dumb it sounded.

I think it just comes from the 'politics as sport' wing as opposed to the 'politics as holy shit these people actually affect our lives' wing.

Some people view victory not as good policy but as the other side being defeated.

One reason I like Gingrich was back in '94 he was the big leader of the "Contract with America" If you aren't old enough to remember those times or the fact that the Democrat party had a virtual lock on the House for generations you might not remember what a big thing it was. Republicans were so used to being the minority opposition party that they were always ready to capitulate or compromise about anything just so they wouldn't feel totally ignored. Although Democrats and members of the press wanted to call it the "contract on America" and dismiss it as destructive, all it did was to say that if the Republicans took control of the House they would promise to vote on the issues in the contract that the Democrats had been blocking from ever getting to a recorded vote.

I still find myself laughing when I remember the looks of shock, anguish and disbelief on the faces of the ABC,CBS,NBC and CNN news people as they reported the landslide. Just for those moments I have good memories of the Gingrich.
