ESPN Motion anyone?

From my initial reactions, this thing rocks. The picture is crystal clear.

The no buffering has been apparent so far.

i have yet to actually see anything (like it said, it will take a few mins) so it must be downloading video because my HD is making that kind of download noise.

Oh crap, it installs WMP codecs. I bet they are keeping track of all your surfing habits. I wouldn't be surprised if it will be dubbed spyware. lol

It runs a program called digstream in the background, they say it takes up 4 megs, I say it takes up a little over 6 (or RAM). It dls the videos while you're surfing the web, so when you watch them, they're already on the computer. Works best with broadband connections.

when i watch some of the clips...like the tx/txtech game highlights...i get wavy lines across the screen when the camera moves to quickly...

I couldn't get WMP 7 for NT at work either.

And the camera problem is normal for movies of such small size (~4MB) I think.

Pretty cool IMO. I don't mind if it takes up a couple of megs of RAM considering the clarity of the video. I visit ESPN.com constantly anyway, so this is a nice added feature. 🙂

ya i got that too. the MJ stuff looked good tho. not sure what happened w/ the texas tech stuff.

It downloads stuff in the background. On 2000/XP you can see all the WMV's it downloads in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DIGStream\ESPNMotion" Application Data is a hidden folder. It's cool, but i turned it off after it had 30 megs of wmv's downloaded after barely a day of being installed.

Do you think the program will delete these files after a certain time has passed? I'd hope so!

It seems a nice way to get a lot of bball footage without any work. 😀 In particular, it's cool to have the MJ vs. young MJ ad tucked away on my HDD (copied it to another folder, of course).

this scares me

ESPN Motion FAQ
It does say it may automatically delete old files as new ones are downloaded but it doesn't say if there is a cap on the total MB it will download.
It also expressly states that it has no spyware and collects no data.
