save your anti war rants for the political forum please.

I think it was more of a pro-war rant actually. He is saying that if we were really at war we wouldn't hesitate to attack mosques or other civilian targets that may or may not contain the enemy.
ummm... that was really a stretch. :p

Actually, I read it the same way. Americans at war = pu$$ies at war?

In the past, war was about winning. Civilians (woman and children) be damned.

I agree.

though i am all for trying to keep civillian deaths down. but sometmes you can't.

i think the "war" was over as soon as the organized army's under the Iraq govt. evaporated into the civilian populace

continuing to call it a "War" has been to me, a PR blunder. there is no way to determine when it ends

we still have troops in Germany from WWII, is WWII really over?

this allows us to keep Iran in check while the nuclear thing gets sorted out, whether that involves Israel nuking the enrichment sites or what, who knows, but this way we have military in the region, with full support bases. on both sides of Iran, Iraq on the west and Afghanistan on the east

One of the most recent of these events was centered around a college cutting funding for its women's sports because they were not profiting off of them and needed the money for their men's sports which they did profit off of. What a lot of people do not realize is that college sports are not an extracurricular activity, they are a business. Schools like Notra Dame rely on their football team for a large source of their income where as women's field hockey is just a burden. Now, instead of protesting this very legitimate action taken by the school, the women could have been out raising money to help fund the canceled sports...

It's true that women's sports might not make as much money as men's sports, or any money for that matter, but I think that raises the question "Should sports be a money making enterprise for Universities at all?". If you say no, what would you be willing to give up in order to compensate for the drop in school income?

Perhaps the best example is women in the armed forces. This also just so happens to be the most dangerous example. Women have absolutely no place in the armed forces. As a soldier I would not want a woman watching my back in battle, I would want a guy pumped up on adrenaline and bursting at the seems with testosterone ready to blow someones' face off watching my back. In close quarters combat I would not want a woman to be my backup, I would once again want a man backing me up. As a soldier in war you kill or be killed, once given the order to fire you fire until ever single one of your enemies is dead or captured. If a woman or child picks up a weapon and aims it at you, you must kill them without hesitation. There is no time for any female based emotional inhibitions about whether or not it is okay to kill someone let alone a woman or child. Squeeze the trigger until the clip is empty then put another clip in. As far as women in high ranking positions as officers, you have the same problem with the femal based emotional inhibitions...

I can think of some men that I wouldn't want in combat with me. Unfortunately it seems like Infantry is used by the military as a dumping ground for people who barely pass their ASVABs, not for people who really want to be in it. Have you seen any specific examples of women that you feel shouldn't be in Infantry (or any combat role) causing any problems? I also have to wonder what our enemies in Iraq would think about female soldiers.

I am glad you finally figured out your role in society, Mosh.... j/k j/k ;) Don't hurt me.

Yeah, OP, you sound like a tool. Granted, I don't watch the WNBA and I love the NBA, but I remember watching some girl college ballers at UT come play a pickup game on campus, and they totally demolished the competition. It was fun to see. That is just a sidenote.

And I know plenty of girl that are smarter and more adaptable than I am, and I have a very high IQ. You just need to start hanging around more females in general. I will say this though, in a war where brute strength and athleticism is needed, I too would probably pick a male just based on law of averages, but times have changed, and war is a little more structured. Women can and do definitely play a role in the military. It is just a different role. Yes, women are different and are more adept at some things than men are, and vise versa, but again, I know too many women who are way more talented than me to think that somehow they are inferior if they want to do something. I am a big proponent of the idea you can do whatever you set your mind to.

Anyways, OP, you need to get more friends who are girls. That is all.

Ummm, actually they have done studies on pain and find that women and men have very similar pain thresholds. The main difference is the type of pain.

Good thing it's Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act, not Title IX anymore. ;)

lol what a loaded name. Equal Opportunity my ass. It's more like equity. It only punishes male sports by creating an artificial ceiling.

It was never intended to be applied to athletics as it is today.

yeap. i also dislike it.

cutting male sports to be equal to womens is insane. most who watch sports are male and are more intersted in watching males. they are usually better and mroe enjoyable to watch.

not to mention of the ones they usually cut is wrestling. wich i am a huge fan of.

I do agree with you OP albeit not for the reasons you listed, most women simply cannot lift up and carry an injured comrade like a man can, its just a fact of life and women have no place in a fire fight.

As far as the college sports things go I suppose it would matter how much money they were losing, if it is a small amount who cares keep the sport but if it is a ton then you have to cut it.

Women have been allowed to vote for close to 90 years now. Were you frozen since the 1921?

you're not worth my time.

That is exactly the attitude I want watching my back at war.

So her attitude, simply because she is a woman, translates into a generality that applies to all women?

No, just her.

actually Mosh's attitude is one i would be fine with someone watching my back. sure she can be a bitch. but you know exactly what you are getting with her. same with Geekbabe. can they be a bitch? sure. but I know i can give it back without them crying over it.

they don't put up with bullshit and don't back down. better then some males on the board.

edit: heh sounds like im insulting both! lol don't take it as i am. i respect both even if i don't always agree with them.

I agree. They have a lot of bite to them, which I like. Just too much bitch alot of the time. But hey.. women.. am i right guys? *jab* *jab*

Holy shit what kind of ignorant planet did you come from? Like I would want someone watching my back that is going to assume my tolerance for fear and pain. You can't base an entire sex of humans by the way society generalizes something to be.

Your argument is pretty sad considering all you can talk about is sports and the military. Women are constantly dominating roles that aren't so physical. Plus, so some proof about schools cutting funding for women's sports. I don't but that, and if it did happen I doubt it would be in a highly educated facility. Usually it's the student body that gets to decide where a lot of that money is spent, and it would be very hard to justly move that money. I don't see the men from Notre Dame profiting that much from football this year.

How did you not know that women could vote? How can you have the balls to insult women when your stupidity is so obvious? I'll tell you who I wouldn't want watching my back in the military... some inbred, homeschooled, preacher worshipping piece of sh!t who didn't always know that women could vote.
