Epox Nforce 2 SFF Mini barebone system $109.99 shipped!!!!!

I'm going to have to run this by Ladybuggy to see if she likes it as a quieter replacement for her SFF 🙂

Cool! Finaly a replacement for my Cap cancer victim Jetway MiniQ. I hope it works with my mobile AXP.

think i can throw in a WinTV PVR 150 (pci tv card) in there... it looks like there is a pci slot, but dunno if it will fit in there. and the power supply...

well i guess that makes up my mind.... but if you look at the epox site OP posted, the MSRP is only $115... so maybe this isnt such an unusual price... but still a good deal.

There is also an ebay seller, 89+20 shipping, but happens to be local to me (Irvine Cal) with a $10 pickup option (same tax as newegg my guess).

This does look hot to me, plays DVD and MP3 without booting to windows, nice LCD, low power and low noise, but I am wondering if it will do the full set of Slingbox/media HTPC type stuff I have in mind? I am going to look on AVSforum HTPC section and start a thread if one isn't there already.

Nice find OP...In stock...gotta build a system for a coworkers nephew and this should be a good start..gracias!!!

Consensus when I asked on the AVSforum is that no practical expansion is the killer, it needs a low profile PCI card and thats about nothing good. If it does what you need as it sits, then you are golden except for a few gripes about the memory it uses.

FYI, Shuttle has a high-rated socket 754 cube for $150 at newegg (SK21), +$40 but a little more expandable (1- AGP + 1- PCI) and takes a more modern CPU.

Asus and MSI also have some decent sort-of-SFF thin desktop and micro tower barebones that are cheap.

Low profile? It seems to use full size cards.

Not a total show stopper, but the specifications at NewEgg's site indicates that the PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports are on the front and not the rear of the case. I use a PS/2 KVM with some of my home systems, so this is a negative for me.

Front I/O ports:
USB2.0, Headphone, MIC, IEEE1394, PS/2 KB, PS/2 Mouse, IR Sensor

🙁
