Waiting on Dungeon Defenders on PC. Its an UE3 game. Very fun btw if you like tower defense+rpg+fun
I was trying out some mods the other day for Unreal Tournament 3 and some Unreal Engine 3 Game Demos.
Black Sierra is damn good. Not finished, but damn good for what it is. Its like a survival horror sort of thing. Think AVP2 on PC.
The Haunting, the mod which won Epic's Make Something Unreal Contest, is like Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries mode done right! Its actually pretty thrilling. You run out of ammo real easy, there are different kinds of monsters (can't call them zombies, they're more like hellspawn), and its very arcadey and fast paced. You go around killing monsters in one well detailed area, you can pick up a weapon upgrade box that turns your smg, into an assault rifle, into a light machine gun, into a heavy machine gun and same with your shot gun, pistol, etc. Its fun as hell and you can do 4 players online. The people who made the Haunting was given $50000 so they can make a fully blown game, since they won the make something unreal contest. They definitely deserved it! I can't wait for the final product.
Lets see here...Alien Breed...(Remember the alien swarm mod for ut200x? That team got hired to make the Source version of alien swarm. I have no clue who made alien breed...lol) Well its pretty much the UE3 version of alien swarm. Its slightly slower paced, but it seems to actually have a story. I only played the demo of it though, and it has much more detail than Alien Swarm and actually runs at the same frames.
Unreal Engine 3 is also being updated immensely. Anyone seen the Samaritan Demonstration?
Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 and 2=Console Ports=Crap (if they made an actual pc version like they did with graw 1 and 2, it would have been amazing...)
Mass Effect 2 on pc is great. I don't think it was a console port, runs past 60fps on my computer.
Unreal Engine 3 on my 2.54ghz dual core, my gt240 ddr5 512mb, and my 2 gigs of ddr2 ram runs EXTREMELY optimized.
So does source, but l4d2 has been having a stutter bug so thats why UE3 is above Source in my mind.
To be honest, Epic needs to make a game like Unreal 2: The Awakening or something cause I loved that game. Played it on xbox1. Good times....
I wonder...how would halflife 2 play like on UE3. Source=Havok, UE3 can use Havok too...So physics is definitely not an issue.
