Try telling that to Tacori.
Hahahaha.....might as well go to Tiffanys in that case.

Whatever you say, but no wedding band costs $4k.
The wedding band is more then just a "ring", its your commitment to the relationship and family.
If you make $4k a month, then you should have no problem affording a nice ring.
Until the wedding, the relationship is temporary. I would not want to spend a lot of money on a temporary relationship.
Bluenile is alright. They cost about the same as B&M in lots of cases. If you go online, and you want to do it all in one place, my recommendation is Whiteflash. They will do a free evaluation on any stone you want (they do limit the amount of times you can do this however). Price wise, they are lower than Bluenile, but the service is better because they do everything in house. If you want to the best price possible or just want to buy the diamond alone, try Eternitydiamonds. The owner is really nice and if you find a lower price on a diamond he lists, he will match it.
If you want to squeeze everything out of your money, look into buying a cushion. It is like a mix between a round and princess cut.
awesome thanks! checking out those other sites.
"Dearest [name],
It has been a great pleasure dating you all these years. I wish to spend the rest of my life with you -- at this moment, that is. However, because the relationship is still legally temporary, I am not willing to risk a large amount of money on it in case I later decide I don't love you. Therefore I bought an inexpensive ring and promise to give you a more expensive one later once it becomes legally difficult for us to break up. Will you marry me?
Sincerely,
Texashiker"
Another thing, when you get married, you want the ring to stand out where it can be easily seen by other men.
When your wife is around town doing some shopping, do you really want some single guy walking up to your wife and ask her out? Only for her to hold up her tiny wedding ring so the guy can see it?
Good for you for not spending a retarded amount of money on an engagement ring. As for all these comments about the diamond being "bad" so what? Can you tell the difference by looking at it? If not then who gives a shit. Diamonds are a big old scam anyways.
P.S. don't get married. The majority of married people seem to be either unhappy or in the process of getting divorced.
I priced out the same ring I got locally at shanes, and shanes was a bit cheaper + lifetime cleanings and whatnot.

a metal band without a bunch of diamonds on it is still noticeable.
Like I said, that is my opinion on the matter.
You spend a lot of money on the engagement ring, the relationship falls apart, and you just lost all that money. She walks away with a good bit of change only to pawn the ring at a local pawn shop, or sell it on ebay, no thank you.
My opinion, if she wants an expensive ring, she has to make a commitment to the relationship. In other words, she gets the expensive ring when we get married, and that way the ring is community property.
She's supposed to wear the wedding band AND engagement ring after the wedding. They're worn on the same finger...wedding band on the inside, engagement ring on the outside.
you are just full of odd ideas aren't you?

My opinion,
Engagement ring = one weeks salary
Wedding ring = one months salary
Do you make $700 - $1,000 a week? If so, that should be fine for an engagement ring.
I dont care what style you look at, as long as it has a single diamond in it. I think multiple diamonds should be reserved for wedding rings.
You got it backwards.
Sounds good to me.
The relationship should not be based off of how much money I spend on her.
If she gauges the relationship on the amount of money spend on her rings, she needs to head on down the road.
