Mike,
From what PC Power & Cooling told me about my PS when I asked about it, this is what they told me:
The TC400ATX should be fine for any motherboard
that does not require the 720ma standard for ATX 2.xx. This standards
revision was published after the manufacture of this series. The TC400ATX
meets ATX standards prior to ATX 2.xx. To meet 2.xx or the pending 3.xx
standard a newer supply would have to be purchased. Even today this
standard continues to change and previous models, in general, can not be
upgraded..If the motherboard demands no more than 150ma on the +5VSB
then the TC400ATX will work fine. If the +5VSB is above this then it
will cause premature power supply failure...
So I have no idea which motherboards actually will not work since from what I see, the only systems that need specific approved power supplies are AMD Athlon/Duron/TBird systems and not Intel systems. The power supply blows air out on mines and there is only one NMB 39cfm 80mm fan. I thought the Enermax was a ATX 2.03 compliant PS, so does this mean it blows air in as well? I was under the impression it blows air out with the 2 fans. Oops, I didn't know there was a big difference between 2.0 and 2.01. What is the auxiliary power connector for? I noticed the SuperMicro SC760A came with a Redundant Cooling system PS that was ATX 2.03 but I swapped it with my old case and kept the PC Power & Cooling PS.
I actually have the ABIT BE6II v2.0 motherboard. It seems like the motherboard works fine except the power switch does not work in Windows. When I press it, all it does is flash the Caps lock, Num Lock and Scroll lock key once and doesn't turn off the system or anything. Only the Reset button works. I can use the power button in the bios and before the WinME screen shows up. So I wonder is this a Power Supply problem or not.
