You should keep that it might be worth some money someday or I will give you $10 for it.

So between 1928 and 1934, they changed the text from "Redeemable in gold on demand at the United... " to "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private, and is redeemable..."?

you ever heard of the gold standard?

Also, the 10 on the fake bill is way off under the SN. It's supposed to be directly under.

EDIT: On top of that, there's a paragraph written on it in small print when it should be 2 lines.

Also, series isn't in there, and the signatures are way off.

Also, portrait is also off.

looks pretty much like

http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?met...es&dekey=US+%2410+Hawaii.jpg&linktext=

looks like that old bill, if you look at your money, most of it is non centered anyways, the cutting is usually off.

Look at the new closeup image I took that includes the text on the front.. it is nowhere near close to the one you posted in the second link.

What text am I looking for on the front?

The second picture is a Hawaiian $10 bill printed in 1934 compared to your bill printed in Washington in 1928.

So between 1928 and 1934, they changed the text from "Redeemable in gold on demand at the United... " to "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private, and is redeemable..."?

Not only that, but the constrast is way off in on the backside, not to mention the texture and feel is different, along with the sound it makes. I'm no experts when it comes to the legitamacy of bills, but if it is legit, it's got to be one of the OLDEST bills I have ever seen in my life.

Here is a picture of a legitimate 1928 Note.

Nope, like I said, I don't claim to be an expert or know much about US. currency or the history of it. Most of my transactions are done digitally and I hardly deal with paper currency. I'm a baby boomer.

lol  @ thread

That would be cool if that was a real $10 bill. OP, you're the only one that can really find out, so don't leave us hanging.

btw, that definition of dense does apply to BigJ in this instance. Miri was making perfect sense, and BigJ was all over the place.

why would the bill be real? it's in colour and it's dated for the 1928 b series.... they didn't start making COLOUR bills till like 2004...so.

Umm green is a color isn't?...

And older bills tend to get that color green.

Hmm, now that I think about it, it has been months since I've even seen a ten. I rarely carry cash on me.

When I said new, I meant Brand New. They've been in circulation for less than a month.

oh, I had no idea they were coming out with new cash... silly me

#1 and #3 are fake. #1 is an inkjet copy of a $100 on plain paper. #3 is a color copier copy of a $20 on the older cotton typewriter paper.

#2 if you look at the date is an older $100. You can't tell from the scanned images, but the color is very similar to the OP's $10 bill.

#4 is the new $10 that came out several weeks ago.
