Aren't they aware that CDRs can be used for things other than music? There are 250 Million blank CDRs and tapes bought and used this year for copying music in comparison to 213 Million prerecorded audio media. This means the owners are only being paid for 46 per cent of the musical content.

Of course after they impose all that BS and notice their sales are still sucking hind tit only then will they realize that the problem is caused by them, their promotion of sh!t for music artists like Britney Spears and Eminem and their over priced product.
Hell most of the stuff worth ripping isn't the current crap they are trying to sell anyway. Besides the brain dead Wiggers buying (C)Rap and Eminem garbage, those who actually have musical tastes realize what is being offered as music today is nothing but recycled fecal matter compared to the Music from the last 3 decades.

I was just going to say something along these lines. With all the "pirating" going on, maybe stupid artists will realize their crap music sucks and we'll get more quality musicians playing cause they love it and stop trying to turn a few mil on CD sales. Hmm...the CD Protection is gonna happen, whether they like it or not. 8 track could be copied, Tapes could be copied, VHS, BetaMAX, CDs, DVDs, Maybe they should go back to Vinyl.
Arg....i'm babbling, but the mass pirating is a natural effect to reduce crap products....and stuff..
What an idiot. I have a few hundred CDRs and not a single one has music on it. Apparently this ass can't even conceive of the fact that CDs can possibly be used for data.Originally posted by: pulse8

I mean, sheesh. People have to pirate movies and games, too!
Do they really think they are the center of the pirating universe?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend all you Britney Spears fans out there.Originally posted by: KnightBreed

It's all about the used CD market.

Yea...unfortunately, there are still people out there who like the crap music out there. But I guess the diversity is what makes America great, huh? "Mmmm bop."

My Lord of the Rings CD won't work in any of my CDROM drives in digital mode. Sure, I can use analog, but what's the point of having a good sound card and digital speakers, if I have to use a crappy analog out line?
Moreover, I can only transfer the CD to MP3 at 1X speed.
So much for my "fair use." Plus, the CD was a gift, so I can't return it.
And I have lots of CDR's that are mixes of my store-bought audio CD's (not to mention data discs). So much for their stupid blank-CDRS-are-all-used-for-pirating argument.
I refuse to buy any more audio CD's that show up on any of the copy-protected lists. Of course, they'll only blame the loss of my business on "pirating," not on their own stupidity.
The Record Industry can wear my a$$ as a hat. :|
