My Lord of the Rings CD won't work in any of my CDROM drives in digital mode. Sure, I can use analog, but what's the point of having a good sound card and digital speakers, if I have to use a crappy analog out line?
Moreover, I can only transfer the CD to MP3 at 1X speed.
So much for my "fair use." Plus, the CD was a gift, so I can't return it.
And I have lots of CDR's that are mixes of my store-bought audio CD's (not to mention data discs). So much for their stupid blank-CDRS-are-all-used-for-pirating argument.
I refuse to buy any more audio CD's that show up on any of the copy-protected lists. Of course, they'll only blame the loss of my business on "pirating," not on their own stupidity.
The Record Industry can wear my a$$ as a hat. :|
