Here's a quote from him:
"One thing I won?t do is put out another song like 'My Name Is,' his breakthrough hit. 'I can't stand that fvcking song' he says. 'This album is rawer. Fans looking for bubblegum rap aren't going to get it here." - On the Slim Shady EP

And although he was a hyprocrit for putting out some "poppish" songs after that quote, he's not stupid.
He knows that's what brings in the sales. But he's not lying when he says he doesn't like those kinds of songs.
How is the 'song' (to use the term loosly) he just did on SNL (2nd one) not bubblegum rap? And was it me or did he lipsync on the first track? Maybe not. But we thought we saw a few moments of lipsync. I'm amazed at all the Eminem (I hate that name) fans in here. Maybe an age thing. If you think he's a musical genious, you seriously need to check out more music besides what's played on your local top 40 or rap station.
Throw 'M&M' in the middle of the desert in Iraq or Afghanistan for all I care.

I like SNL but hate that I have to watch crap music on there like this 99% of the time now.

Yeah, I think he did lip synch his first song.

Bush is paying lip service now for the votes, but Powell wouldn't blatantly say this if it weren't discussed prior.

Considering how Bush gives a sh!t while he's in power, you can bet your bottom dollar the draft will be in effect sometime when he's elected....

I can't endorse Em without mentioning a few other top notched lyricists

Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Canibus
Nas
Immortal Technique
Black Thought

what about Tupac? I like Eminem and all and he has some talent, but I believe Tupac was definitely one of the best. And if anyone mentions Jay-Z, they are cray-z.

Jay Z has great lyrics, just not on his singles. They are just what he uses to sell his albums. Listen to Moment of Clarity.

"I dumb down for my audience
And double my dollars
They criticize me for it
Yet they all yell "Holla"
If skills sold
Truth be told
I'd probably be
Lyricly
Talib Kweli
Truthfully
I wanna rhyme like Common Sense
(But i did five Mil)
I ain't been rhymin like Common Sense
When your sense got that much in common
And you been hustlin since
Your inception
Fuck perception
Go with what makes sense
Since
I know what i'm up against
We as rappers must decide what's most impor-tant
And i can't help the poor if i'm one of them
So i got rich and gave back
To me that's the win, win"

I'm not saying these are his best lyrics, but he explains why He raps the way he does.

Also check out this song for some great lyrics.

He lip-synced a song on last week's "Saturday Night Live". The hypocritical bastard!

yep. like i predicted, the 1st single was poppy, the rest of the album is vengeful, dark and of course, controversial. he goes after his ex, bush, speaks on his past beefs and the michael jackson 'just lose it' incident, and even has a song that lightly discusses christopher reeve. granted his lyrics dont go as far as dumping his ex's wife's body off a pier, but with good production, catchy lyrics and hooks and amazing wordplay, this album should easily accomplish multi-platinum status.

I agree. Plus it's very unlikely that anyone with half a brain is going to even consider listening to anything this idiot has to say. People need to stop listening to hollywood and other celebrities about improtant issues. Like they have a life that's based in any kind of reality.... :disgust:

Generals gathered in their masses
just like witches at black masses
evil minds that plot destruction
sorcerers of death's construction
in the fields the bodies burning
as the war machine keeps turning
death and hatred to mankind
poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
they only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
ashes were the bodies burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of god has struck the hour
Day of judgement, god is calling
on their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings

OH LORD YEAH!

i like em's rhyme scheme better

You have got to be kidding me :(

Ozzy is a lot more talented them Em ever will be
