If you listen to the interview he said he's a Mexican...pause...I'm building a wall.
There isn't a big leap to assume he meant he doesn't want a Mexican lineage Judge. When he was corrected by the interviewer that the Judge is American he didn't change his tune. The correction happened multiple times. Trump still hasn't clearly stated what he meant so we have to accept his words.

He "happens to be Spanish" is somehow, "he's hostile because he is Spanish". How does that work?

He does talk about a hostility which you assume is because of his ethnicity.

Why do you assume he's hostile because of his ethnicity? He's hostile AND he's Hispanic (not that he should have brought that up at all).

You've made the assumption that he was trying to explain the hostility with his ethnicity. Yes he mentioned his ethnicity and I've blasted him for it. It was incredibly stupid and irrelevant.

The judge is hostile, in his opinion, and he happens to be of Mexican heritage. This hostility isn't encapsulated with "because he's Mexican". In his speeches he isn't pretending to explain WHY he's hostile.
