Yeah that's what we need a good speech, he can engage the mullahs with meaningful dialogue and he can get these issues resolved.
He IS the great communicator and he can be a source of reason and calm.

At THIS point today the best thing we can do is give support to the protesters. If we are lucky they will take care of the regime for us. For Obama to get confrontational will only help the mullahs.
Later on down the road if the revolution fails then we can talk about getting tough.
Some military/police units refusing to attack protesters.
Crowds are now chanting "down with the dictator" (referring to Ayatollah Al Khomeini), they are no longer talking about election fraud.

If the Iranian protesters turn violent, they will lose the support of the people and the same is true for the Mullahs if they use unwarranted violence to repress the protests.

Damn I wish I had cable!!!!
We could be watching history. It could be the fall of 1989 all over again.

Seems they are spraying the protesters with acid by helicopter from what I've read in the blogs and various comments. Now not your skin melting strong, but enough to feel like its burning it seems.

Cable news has been sorely lacking, esp. amongst the 24hr networks. You are better off sticking to the internets...
