I'm about ready to uninstall.

Fun game, but these constant disconnects just ruin it. Sometimes you are even rolled back to before your last disconnect, making that last 15 minutes just disappear. Now they are asking for you to whisper your IP to someone, to find out where the problem is 'on your end'. What fucking bullshit; their servers are being pounded and it's dropping clients, pure and simple.

Finally got home after a day at the nursing home with my great aunt, looking forward to playing and 15 minutes in *boom*, dc. I don't even want to fire it up again I'm so sick of it.

/end rant

Btw, if you purchased from GMG (not sure if only here), and setup your account, see if they automatically charged you $15. Apparently they are doing this to a lot of people, charging for a month after the free 30 days instantly.

Yea, it's weird. Apparently ppl on the same home network; some will never dc, while another will constantly dc like me.

Going to give it a last try right now. Almost 1AM est. If I can't get on and do a dungeon or play an hour, I'm uninstalling and buying AoW3 on Steam.

Well I hate to be a pooper, but you/we've been lucky the game has been as playable as it has been. Even with the mighty maintenance patches they did I was surprised at how smoorth the MMO pre launch has been, but you need to be prepared for probably another week of issues like you mentioned, even the best MMO launches have a nightmare time, and you are right it is because the server is struggling.

If you enjoy the game I wouldn't uninstall, I would simply step away for a while. You'll find a lot of experienced MMOers don't even bother buying a new MMO until a month or so after release because the issues are pretty much inevitable (I believe FFXIV took over a month of people stuck in log in queues for hours before getting in, and servers were locked so people could not create new chars on them).

Those of us MMOers who are wise enough to know better than to pre-order/jump in on release are suckers for punishment, we can't resist, knowing full well the anger and frustration the initial weeks will cause us, we buy it, we tell ourselves it will happen, then we proceed to rant and rave about it anyway.

It usually takes a few weeks for things settle down in MMO's. This one has been surprisingly smooth. But today is the true test of how the game is on stability.

There are issues with some of the patches coming down tonight -- some folks are reporting they're having to reinstall the game as a result. This happened to me as well.

No problems. I downloaded the patch and then played normally. Also, got out of the game, and then played again later in the night, so nothing happened the 2nd time I launched the game either.

Got an email from Green Man Gaming this morning stating that the keys specified here:

https://greenmangaming.zendesk.com/entries/48833287-Elder-Scrolls-Online-Launch-FAQ

would be emailed to me "today." I haven't received any additional emails or keys from them. Anyone else? A friend who ordered from them did receive his keys.

I got the 2nd email with the codes about 3 hours after the first email.

I sent a support ticket and about an hour later, my codes arrived.

I haven't had the same issues as JamesV, but I believe I likely won't go beyond the free month. I'll know for sure this weekend. I just can't level very fast and my group (brothers and friends) are pulling away from me. I guess I just suck at it, so unless I make huge progress this weekend, I'm probably done. I just don't want this to become like SWTOR, where I literally spent something like 10 hours per day over my Christmas vacation leveling. :)

Generally I find for leveling, that for Character level, quests and exploration seem to be the best.

For active skills, they will only level if you have them on your action bar, and leveling those will help your character level as well, not as fast as quests and exploration thought

Doing stuff in groups is suppose to give more experience as well, ( I don't know as I am manly solo)

Also try to be on level for the area you are in as well, if you are level 10 and doing level 6 stuff, it does not seem to level as fast, as least that's what it seems to me. I'd be in a lower level area than my level and it does not seem to get anything, character or skills, as soon as I do one quest in a similar level area seems to be very noticeable, I would get one or two skill almost after doing 1 quest

I don't know man, the leveling seemed decently quick (i.e. not tedious) and less grindy to me compared to most MMO's, plus they did a good job of keeping you connected to the main story while providing compelling stories elsewhere.

I didn't have a lot of trouble staying online or bugging out during the beta either.

Yeah, I'm level 9, almost level 10, and have tried to stick to my areas. My brothers are in the upper teens, one friend is in the low 20s, and a couple of other guys who just started playing are already on par with me. They're all going to be well past me shortly. My wife is out of town this weekend so I should have ample time to play, but I don't want a repeat of the 10+ hour days on SWTOR.

Sometimes I run out of quests though and randomly killing mobs doesn't really seem to give you good XP, at least the ones I've tried so far.

This. There's no way I was jumping in on launch day.

My brother and I are lvl 15 (templar/DK) on the DC side, I barely have had time to play since early access.

He's gotten some random disconnects a couple times a night, I've had a remarkably error free playing experience. On the DC orc island that necromancer mote quest was terrible for us so we didn't finish that island. So far on DC - Glenumbra our only issue is ghosts of westerly - hearing the conversation seems bugged.

PS if you want to craft I recommend finding a partner - the best way is counter-intuitive - you want your partner to make you items and then you deconstruct for the most gain. We ran a bunch of numbers the best gains are lvl 6 dagger - BS , lvl 4 staffs - wood, lvl 14 light/medium armor helm (or any other slot that has low initial material requirement) - Clothing. Again the person who you want to level should be doing the deconstructing, as crazy as this seems it's better than crafting and deconstructing your own items. We still haven't researched the fastest enchanting path but circle runes are rare so there isn't a lot of experimenting we can do. Advanced warning lvl 6 daggers and lvl 4 staffs are going to kill your bank from mass purchasing of relevant racial gems. The higher level staffs aren't that much worse than lvl 4 staffs in return per wood so may be worth if you want to save gold.

It's hard to find numbers on the level 10 expertise ability, he found the green chance at lvl 1 resin expertise went from 20% to 23% for wood - I am a few daggers from leveling blacksmithing 10 so I will check tonight on temper expertise. My general thought is to hold off on wasting green/blue tempers until I get the expertise ability high enough to actually reduce the required investment. The general questing greens/blues are enough for blowing through level appropriate content.

We still have to run through all the Glenumbra public dungeons & other faction group dungeons to get the skillpoints from the completion of each. I'm still terrible at tanking this game but if people want to join us we run EST nighttime usually.

And both of those problems were present during the open beta a month ago.

This has been the smoothest MMO launch I've ever been a part of. I've been DC'ed once and that was in the early access. I've not had any issues in days.

Not having massive DC issues either. I had a couple the first day of early access, but nothing since really.

I bought from GMG and haven't had any problems with the codes. Got my codes on Wednesday I think.

I do have a problem though with billing setup. I can't set up a billing subscription. Some how my account has no address attached to it in the account settings. Only the country I live in. Since there is no address, one of the first thing the billing page does is match up the address on file with your account with you payment option. Well I have no address and no way to enter one. I called customer service this morning on it and even they weren't able to put an address on my account. That's how I learned about the address problem was through them. All I know was it was denying me for invalid address for every form of payment I tried.

What skills are you using Sub?

I am a lvl 11 Templar and have no issues with the quests I've been doing (course I have also had practice via Beta).

I pretty much use no stamina during fights, rarely Dodge (other than actually just moving) and anytime I would block I tend to bash which often stuns the mob - which allows for a heavy attack and knocking down the opponent.

The key to Templar is his burst damage, pretty much nothing should be standing by the time you drain your magic. Boss type mobs are trickier as you need to balance your resources a little more (though most the boss type mobs in solo quests tend not to be too heavy on damage)

My set up is 5 Heavy Armour, 2 Light (mainly to lvl up the skill line). Sword and shield.
SKills are:

Puncture (morph of first 1h&shield ability) - this reduces the mobs armour and magic resist which makes evrything you do hit harder.

Biting Jabs (Morph of first skill in Aedric Spear line) - This is the killer skill and my go to attack in all fights whether it be multiple mobs or single target. The damage is crazy good, even better if they are under 50% (if under 50% this is pretty much the kill shot on trash)

Reflective Light (Morph of first skill in Dawns Wrath) - Nice ranged attack, I often open with it, though do use it less and less these days as I prefer to use my magicka on biting jabs. I think I may respec later and make it the single target attack instead which does more damage.

Binding Javelin (morph of second Aedric Spear skill) - knockback with a decent duration, very good for taking a mob out the fight while you deal with the other, or more importantly great for disabling a tough mob (as usually in small groups of trash I prefer to keep them all close to kill with Jabs)

Breath of Life - my emergency heal, though rarely used which is just as well as I don't have much magic to spare, but has saved me a few times.

My Ultimate is from the Aedric spear line as it is dirt cheap and regularly usable for extra damage without resource cost.

The build does fine against up to 3 or so mobs, I open with Reflective Light to hit them all, run in close, Puncture the bigger threat (usually caster) then hit Biting Jabs, followed by another and usually everything is dead. If not I throw a few normal attacks or somemore Punctures if I have the Stamina.

On a boss type mob I keep Puncture on them, cast Javelin and maybe a Reflective Light as I walk towards them (skip the Javelin if mob is immune), I then follow up with a few light attacks and another Puncture, block if a big hit is coming, try to get him closer to 50% before spamming a few Biting Jabs on him - I usually try to keep magic high enough to have a heal spare.

Thanks for the tips. I played a night blade in the beta, so I'm completely new to the Templar. I've been going with 2hder, so I'll which to sword and board. I've been using Charge (2hd ability), Biting Jab, Javelin, and the heal spell. I'm guessing the Charge and dodging blows my Stam. How do you disperse your ability points? I've been doing pretty even between health, stam, and magic. Should I go weigh it toward magic?

As mentioned by another poster, stamina affects physical weapon damage as well as increase stamina resource bar to use physical based attacks. Magicka stat affects spell damage as well as increasing the magicka resource bar.

I used a templar 2 handed and was focusing primarily on magicka as the main character stat. The burst damage from the spells is too good not to. I was focusing on the fire line more than the spear line. The biting jabs is nice for a ton of damage though on a single target. But you'll find you go up against more packs of mobs that single targets once you reach 10+. I like the fire line because the Sun fire skill (first skill) is ranged and adds a nice long snare to the target. Reflective light makes it "aoe" ish in that it can hit up to 3 targets.

Seriously if you focus on the Magicka character skill, and sunfire with a range weapon, you'll kill most packs of monsters before they even get to you.

I split my points between Magicka and Health fairly evenly, I didn't worry about Stamina as I don't use much of it really

Man was a blast hitting 15th lvl to get weapon swap. Templar is just destroying stuff now. With packs of 3-4 I go like this

Stampede -> Solar Barrage -> Biting Jab -> Solar Barrage --> Biting Jab or Radial Sweep --> if shit ain't dead do one more biting jab. Utterly destroys. Radial Sweep only costs 75 ultimate so it usable almost every fight. With a single mob you won't need to repeat anything it dies fast. For boss mobs I switch to my 2nd bar, cast Mutagen, heavy attack with resto staff to get back magicka then back to 1st bar.

My build looks like this now http://esocalc.com/#1-1d5110000000:...:12-439:53:134:71:132:55:503:76:505:71:132:42
With my 6pc light armor set and 2/2 recovery I regenerate magicka 24% faster now.

Got 17 pretty fast.

I'm about to hit lvl 15 on my khajiit nightblade. The game has been great so far, I have had few problems. A couple disconnects which were no biggie, and I did get stuck once but I was lost and trying to climb over some mountains or something and fell through the map. /stuck and all was well.

I haven't even tried PVP yet. And I think I have been wasting a little bit too much time on resources. I cant resist stopping to chop that log or mine the ore or pick the flowers. I think I am over level 10 at everything so far and my bank is full of materials.

i uninstalled the beta 2 hours into it, i was bored to death. That was like 3 months ago.
