Went from level 9 yesterday to level 14 today. Ran into a really bugged question -- the one where you have to get 6 units of werewolf blood at Camlorn. The quest marker is on the side gate, so I walk through the side gate and it places me back in the place I just came from. If I stand at the gate I can see the wolves but the minute I open it, it dumps me back into the room where I opened the door from.

Can someone tell me why the gaming hipsters are crusading against this game?

Its based on a much-loved single player series lore. Even though it's developed by another branch of Zenimax in the back of their minds they worry that its going to distract from development of ES VI. I must admit, I worry about that. Saw Blizzard get consumed by WoW development for many years before they finally began producing something else. Would hate to see a similar situation with Bethesda.

Hmm tried remaking a thane. I think this Thane is actually useful unlike the DAOC one :D

Something I don't quite understand... I have toons in the 3 factions, but most guilds say they recruit for a specific faction only. So did I shoot myself in the foot by doing this? Or do guilds not care and they just have to pick one faction to fight for in PVP?

A lot of guilds choose a faction early on, so if there was a specific guild you were interested in, you'd need to be in the same faction to play with them.

If you got the explorers pack (think that is the one), you can play any race in any faction, and Imperials can be in any faction.

Yeah, I got the Imperial pack so that means I can technically still join any guild regardless of faction then? I have toons in all 3 factions so that's where I get confused if it would limit me in any way or if guilds wouldnt/couldnt recruit me.

Are you spending any skill points in armor?

I have spent 2 points in Heavy Armour for the defense boost (both points in first passive) and 2 points in the Light armour passive to reduce magicka costs, as well as 1 point in the second passive. I use 5 Heavy/2 Light.
-----------

Regarding Guilds:
You can be in any guild regardless of faction, all your chars are in that guild. A Guild picks a faction to fight for though, so in PvP, you cannot take over a keep for a Guild you are in if that Guild is Daggerfall Covenant while you are on an AD char. It makes sense to join a Guild which has the same faction as your 'main char' but if you are going to have alts it also makes sense to be in a Guild for each faction too.

In remaking my Thane, I put points into light armor passive to reduce cost of magika spells + increase magika regen rate. I'll also put points into heavy for health.

I am running 5/2 setup. Currently running around with a pair of hammers. But I will probably equip a shield down the road as mobs become harder to kill. At this point I haven't put any points into weapon skills. But that will probably change.

Ok, how's the game since release? I'm really tempted to by in and play for a month. Game look interesting enough and would be a nice change from WoW, which I still play lol.

I'm actually surprised by how good this game is. I played in the beta early on and briefly and didn't like it very much. I didn't give it much of a chance in the beta and quit before I even got out of the starter area though. I cant really pinpoint what I didn't like in the beta...maybe I was just being a negative Nancy at the time:)

Needing a break from Path of Exile and being bored I decided to try it again at launch. After getting used to the slow pace I can honestly say I love this game! I have like 29 hrs in and I'm only a lvl 13 Templar.. I can't get enough of it :) I catch myself just stopping and taking in the view a lot....the game is just beautiful imho.

Anyway..I'm not much of a writer, or reviewer, but again I love it and didn't expect to at all!

Oh and BTW, do you guys all play on the same server?
Would be nice to have an AT community over there.

Which server most of you play on? I don't have any friends interested in this game so I might end up soloing most of the time, which is not really a problem for me...for now.

ESO blends all into a Megaserver. There are 2, one in the US and one in Europe. Everyone on the US server can see everyone else. to group with or whatever. It is great.
Edit: You don't pick a server, you just login and go.

You write good enough to get quoted lol.
I have a lot of the same opinions as stated. During beta I wasn't sure I'd bite for the whole game but now I'm all in! The more I play, the more I enjoy the game. The graphics, game play and story telling are all quality. You could spend hours just exploring and reading the lore books if so inclined. And the mobs that were dropping easy in beta seem to be packing a punch now. Just a real well done job.

You do pick a server for pvp. They are called campaigns. And you can pick which pvp server you want to join at lvl 10.

Made it to 21 this weekend. Don't get to play that much. A couple of guys from my guild are now 50 the long hard way. With /played time hovering around 6+ days played. Yah, they don't seem to sleep or something. They haven't started on the veteran levels yet at least.

As for myself, having a blast still despite the multitude of broken quests and dungeons. Those are annoying as hell. The completionist in me wants to finish them, but the realist in me knows that wasting hours of time trying a broken quest or dungeon over and over again in the futile hope that maybe the next attempt won't be broken is just a huge waste of time. Yet I see people constantly doing it.

However, I am liking how well my character just destroys stuff overall. About level 15 I picked up a sword and board style just to get into groups for dungeons (right now only Fungal Grotto for the 12-15 dungeons even work). If you pick dps as your role be prepared to wait a long ass time to get into a group. All it takes is putting on a few pieces of heavy armor (which I have been wearing 5/1/1 setup) and a 1 handed weapon with a shield. Stick a point into puncture for the only skill in the game with taunt and VIOLA! you are instant tank.

Really isn't that hard to tank. Puncture is relatively low cost to use stamina wise and is my only stamina costing skill on the bar when I'm not using silver arrows. It does decent damage, lowers the targets defenses, and taunts for 15 seconds. Good cheap skill. Bosses tend to have random secondary argo targets, which means even if you do taunt a boss, they'll randomly turn and smack a secondary target before attacking you again with their next attack through the taunt. Usually it doesn't kill the other person if they are paying attention.... but yah they don't always pay attention enough to get out of the way sometimes.

For solo I am setup with the following:

1 handed weapon/shield
Puncture -> Pierce Armor
Soul Trap -> Consuming Trap
Mage Fury -> Endless Fury
Crystal Shard -> Crystal Fragment
Winged Twilight -> Twilight Matriarch
Storm Atronach -> Charged Atronach

I use that setup soloing and do just fine crushing through everything. I accidentally was doing a harder quest line when level 18 than I noticed what I was doing at first. I was fighting level 23 trolls and gargoyles that were first square elites at level 18. I made it through the whole quest line to get the Khajit Mantle solo as a level 18 against level 23 elites and packs of 23 norms. Was hard, but doable.

As far as the storyline, loving all the fighter and mage guild stories. Sheogroth is effing hilarious.

My IGN is "Bermot", I play a Redguard Templar in the Aldmeri Dominion faction. I'm OK with anybody on here hitting me up in game to play.There will be times when having help will make a big difference. Some of the open world bosses are tough for example, these are marked on the map by a skull & crossbones, and a friend or two will save some frustration.

This is pretty much how it went for me as well. I played a couple of the early beta weekends and did not really get into it. On the last weekend they had, I figured I would give it an honest go. I found that the more I played, the more I liked it.

Now, I'm pretty hooked. I'm level 19 and having a blast. Honestly, I've not enjoyed an MMO this much in a long while. Unfortunately, all of my friends refused to give it a try and are all aboard the WildStar train. I even had one tell me that ESO sucks and when I asked him how long he played he said, "level 3."

I'm having a great time but I would like to find some people to run dungeons and do some PvP with. The only issue I have is wanting to play all of the classes.

Whats your thinking behind Magika/Health/Stamina point distribution? Also any other skill points spent in armor or anything else?

This setup sounds interesting.. it would be cool to have a guide for a similar build with all the thinking and philosophy behind it.
