hrm, just read this thread, haven't bothered to click any links, but I immediately had 2 questions that need answers.

When the servers open on day 1, will there be 100,000 people busting out of jail at the same time?

and

Will the character models be as hideous as the single player games? :D

As much as I've loved the elder scrolls games, dating all the way back to arena, I have never liked the character designs. The elf races look especially sad. All simian brow, cone headed mutants :p

Well, the elder scrolls has gone multiplayer 1 time before (although not an mmo) - battlespire. And, anyone old enough to actually remember that game, knows their track record so far is 0 for 1.

Lets hope this game doesn't suck quite as bad as battlespire did.

To the first question? Most likely.

Any first week(s) of MMOs get busy. Because a lot of people want to try it because they may like it. Depending on server sizes however, would be a limit on "breaking out of jail". And if they have multiple starter zones or not on release.

And the models look a little better, but still nothing too appeasing to look at. I personally have disliked the looks of the elves forever, but if they were to change them too much, it would be wrong.

Heh, mostly I was poking fun at how all the games have started with you incarcerated, and busting out. Will be quite absurd if they follow suite with the mmo, and you get a massive mob doing a jail break all at the same time.

Some huge creature busts open a large prison house...

Sounds like a perfect idea!

I only liked the elder scrolls BECAUSE of the single player aspect. Where I can go my own pace, and enjoy/read all the books you run across. The lore...

Add in MMO factor where if you do not rush you can get left behind, add in nothing new, and probably won't even have half the "modern" MMO tools on launch, because it was being made years ago.

Also they have to go away from the things that made elder scrolls... elder scrolls to make it an MMO even so.

I do not see how this game will be all that great/exciting.

I agree completely. Never did like on line gaming.
