If I flash to the LE-GT bios, is 1.5V too much to run 24/7 and have it last a few years?

I would go with the 1.4V as the 1.5 didnt help my OC any but did cause a significant increase in temps.

nice OC :Q
my 6800LE needs the LE-GT 1.5v just to pass 420mhz.
still a great card tho :)

Kabob983, re; my post of 10-20-04, ref useing other pwr supplies, go for it, just blow out the older one and make sure you strap or ground the pwr supply shell to your metal computer case/frame with 1/4" copper braid or screws. I don't know the current draw of this unit. Good luck.

I would say check out the bios and make sure everything liike good. In the book that came with the card it sayd what they recomend the bios settings to be. Let us know though.

Hmm Im really more of an enthusiast-light, so ya know clue on how to do that or what I'd look for. The only thing I can think of is, at home I used Rivatuner to OC to 350 core, then I used riva to restore default driver values. From there I just popped it out and brought it to my main PC.

Is it possible to use the LE-GT bios and lower the voltage to 1.4V so that I can still take advantage of the tighter timings?

I'm interested in seeing if any of the people who bought these cards from other vendors like Zipzoomfly, ect., have any luck with these cards. The Zipzoomfly link to the eVGA site shows 12pipes listed inthe specs for the 6800LE cards.

Hopefully my Newegg card gets here tommorrow :)

There are 2 versions of most of these BIOSes Elfear. I'm prolly gonna try Thug's LE-GT 1.4v myself.

Can someone explain to me the difference (or effect one has on the other) between vCore (AGP voltage via mobo BIOS) and these video card BIOS voltages of 1.3/1.4/1.5 etc???

Reason I ask is because my mobo is defaulted to 1.55 agp voltage, yet does that impact in anyway if I flash my video card bios...

VallyBally- Are you going to flash your card and then look for max OC, or are you going to set it @Ultra speeds and leave it alone? I'll probably just do the latter so I can set it and forget about it.

So Thugs, what's the latest BIOS that you're using and where can we download it?

I assume the latest is the following one in aonic's bootdisk, yes?

LE-GT.rom [ LE - GT with 1.4v (THUGS) ] 1.1 / 1.4 / 1.4

TIA for the reply.

Ok, so I couldnt seem to get thugs bios to flash, so i just did the regular ultra bios...it did work! And the problems i was having with artifacts is all gone bye bye! and i am running at 425! yeah! i am stoked!!!

it looks like it is running at 59 idle and 75 under load using the temps that are in the Nvidia utility. are these high? what do you guys use to monotor temps? since i am OC'ing this, i figure i better keep an eye on it to make sure i dont fry it!

Also, what do you guys use to stress test to make sure it is rock stable?

thanx in advance...and thanx to all you out there showing us all how to do this!

can you guys also post your temprature changes from LE to custom flashed bios
thx

and for the ultra id:
flash your bios, get the drivers.. then:
http://aonic.net/~aonic/riva.jpg
^ this shows ULTRA even tho im using the LE bios

and goto NVSTRAP tab and change the settings like so
http://aonic.net/~aonic/riva2.jpg

then apply, reboot and your done!

result: http://aonic.net/~aonic/riva3.jpg

So this ID utilty works only as long as you are running Riva tuner and does not work with any other app? or does it actually modify the bios?

it doesnt modify it. it works with every program.. everything see's your card as an ultra (as showed in result pictured)

the ID utility works with low level
straight from rivatuner FAQ:

Q: And what about the low level overclocking? Will it work if RivaTuner is not loaded at Windows startup?

A: Yes, it will. The only condition is not to remove RivaTuner's folder from your hard drive. RivaTuner adds itself with the /S command line switch to the autorun registry key when you enable any low level settings (e.g. overclocking or color correction) at Windows startup. When this command line switch is specified, RivaTuner loads itself at Windows startup, executes startup daemon (the procedure that configures startup settings depending on the settings you've made) and unloads itself from memory immediately.
