What are the different regions? What differentiates the different cultural groups? How many languages are spoken there? Why do Indian movies have so much singing?

Tell me everything you know. I thirst for knowledge.

Don't go. India is a dreadful, dreadful place.
You know, it's the only country that still has the plague? I mean, the plague! Please!

for that matter, don't eat any food item you can buy for less than $2, don't drink any water but bottled mineral water. tell your doctor you're going to india... the doc will give you a few vaccinations and some meds for malaria and stuff. ask for vaccinations for water-borne diseases like cholera and typhoid. start taking extra vitamins two weeks before the trip and continue taking them throughout the trip, coz you need your immune system to really work. carry a supply of anti-histamine meds that will allow you to have at least 4 pills a day during the duration of your trip (worst-case scenario, but i'm not kidding, you will need some if not all of that medication). in case you run out of anti-histamine meds during your trip, go to a drug store and buy some cetrizine. it'll be thrice as expensive as the other allery pills, but it has no side effects and most importantly, won't make you drowsy. if you wear lenses, carry several bottles of rewetting drops among other things, you'll need them.

Some of the predominant religions are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. It has 15 national languages and around 1600 dialects. Going from one state to another will seem like night and day in terms of language, tradition and food. Songs in Indian movies, I think, are the result of how movies evolved over time. There are few bands or individual artists who have albums that are as popular as the songs from movies. Why has it evolved this way, well, why dont movies have songs in them anymore? I think if you can answer you can answer the other. If you like history, you'll be at home there will all the temples, some which are over 2000 years old.

CD.

It's a nice place, but the culture is fading. I was VERY dissapointed this time when I went to India. It just doesn't feel the same anymore 🙁

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me

If I was going to India, I wouldn't go to the bathroom the entire time.

You know what? It's really pleasing to see you guys diss my native land. India's cultural traditions are not done to impress Americans or those of other nations . . .

Not only that, but Kashmir DOES belong to INDIA!

Excuse me, but that's only in rural areas . . . in fact, prove to me that the plague is still in India.

And if it is . . . ONLY COUNTRY? What about Africa? South-East Asia?

Really? Which part of India are you from/do you visit?

Because the places I go . . . sure, they are becoming a little western, but the basic traditions are still there!
