Edmunds Inside Line: 370Z vs 2010 Mustang

Too bad the stang performs the way it does. Although I will be honest and say that the 2010 GT 500 looks amazing.

Its also costs 5G more. . . And thats if you actually pay retail for a Ford which nobody ever does

Both pretty decent cars, amazing really at the price compared to what we had just 10 years ago, taking inflation into account.

Actually a base 370z with the sport package would be about the same price and it would still own the Mustang and you're not going to pay MSRP there either.

Yes it's marginally more expensive, but you're getting a hell of a lot for the price difference.

wat 😕

Mustang is only 200 lbs more than the Z, and it has 2 more cylinders, 2 more seats (with enough room for 4 adults) and twice the cargo room.
Ford is trying to appease a broader market with the Mustang than Nissan is with the Z.

that it may but it still needs a diet.

they both should ditch the giant power robbing wheels. moving weight further out is not conducive to acceleration.

I'm not taking sides with any car but just saying that no modern Mustang that I can remember ever had enough headroom for anyone taller than 5'5 in the rear seats.

This is exaggerated a bit. I'm 6'2" and I've been able to squeeze into the back seat of my friend's 05 Mustang... as long as the front seat is pulled way forward I can sit without tilting my head way over. It does touch the roof, but I bet if you were 5'10" you'd be ok.

Well, make that 5'10" with no legs...

Bullshit.

Yeah, I read that too and was like WTF? It doesn't even make sense...

Rush Limbaugh of cars? Does that mean the Mustang is a fat bloated gas bag?

Mustang should be getting a healthy engine upgrade in a year. I'll wait for that. Rumor has it the base model will get a 300hp Ecoboost V6 turbo. GT will be going up to 400hp.

The Ecoboost V6 turbo will be around 365bhp. I'll bet money on it.

Ford and the American Auto Cos need to do several things:

Declare bankruptcy, study the Japanese manufacturing techniques, and work on getting high quality finishes.

It's funny you say that. I was parked between a Lexus IS350 and a Hummer H3 yesterday and looked at the paint on the H3 compared to the Lexus. Man, no contest. Lexus wins that one hands down. There was so much orange peel on the H3, don't get me wrong, it didn't look bad but compared to the Lexus it was like night and day difference.

BTW-Ford is the only one of the big three that didn't take bailout money. They have enough cash reserves to last a year or so last I heard.

Hey, I didn't say they had to fit comfortably 😉

I would also say that my friend's Camaro has the most amazing black paint I have seen. Well at least the best I have seen that is not a Porsche. Crap interior, amazing paint.
That being said, if I were a dash stroker I would prefer a Fusion and a Malibu over a Camry.
