Edit: *Spoilers* Wow, Battlestar Galactica is really good!

Wait, you mean there are only two parts?!? 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

I really liked number 2. When the Battlestar deployed its defense grid I started drooling. That was awesome!

Yeaah man thats what i was thinking, be like "be-dee-bee-deee beeeep, Whats up doc?" 😛

Great show tho!
That was buck rogers you dork. 😛

Where did Adama get the note stating the number of cylon models?

The Humanoids obsession with sex could be justified in lots of ways:
It's humanity's driving force and ultimately our salvation
She "wants to be human" and sex is the ultimate expression of humanity (from one perspective)
Sex is an affirmation of life and as such she wants to control it to ultimately destroy it.

I like Starbuck but she's clearly not the heart of the show that the original was. The original was modeled after the western\"martian" sci-fi's of it's time, this one is modeled after works of science fiction, (think Sigourney Weaver).

The new cylon ships remind me of Babylon 5 ships, I thought the cylon eye on the ships was a stretch. I like Baltar's character he's really a schmuck, I hope he doesn't turn into comic relief and stays tragically inept.

I'm in full agreement that I need to hear an original centurion say "by your command" or this series will have been a complete waste.

and all the sex that boomer was having must have been a hint to her final appearance.

was boomer a cylon in the original??

Nah Boomer is a sleeper, she doesn't even know she's Cylon. How long is this supposed to go on for?

All the sex in the first half-hour of the mini-series was having me thinking they should have called this Pornstar Galactica.

No, Boomer was not a cylon in the original. He was a black male.

I was surprised that they made her a Cylon. I was expecting the President's aide.

This new boomer is definitely a hottie though.

So are there plans to make this into a regular series? Or perhaps more movies?

I haven't seen the original show (a bit before my time), but I really enjoyed the remake.

There are no plans for series as far as I know. They left it open ended with a ton of loose ends but I doubt those will ever get resolved. Maybe they'll make another mini series in a year, like the Dune saga. I'm not sure.

Christ, I can't see how they COULDN'T continue it somehow. I'd rather it be an occasional 2 or three movies with a full budget than an underfunded series. But if they were to handle it as well or better than Farscape that would be all right. It's a total cliffhanger. I hate that.

I would much rather have them bring out additional mini-series of Battlestar Galactica instead of having it as a regular series because I don't think they can keep up the quality if it was a regular series.

Also, make sure the writers have an overall concept/storyline for the series instead of "making things up" as you go along. When scripts are written in a "making things up as you go along" way, a series usually ends up becoming contradictory with stupid plot holes.

I'm slightly disappointed...

No "By Your Command"....

No "Centons, Yahrens, Microns, etc..."

No "Felgercarb"

NOT ENOUGH CYLON CENTURIANS..... 🙁

I hope it becomes a series. 🙂

Are we talking about Enterprise? 😉

If this series did nothing else it has proved that Amish can like something and that really warms the cockles of me heart.

mmmm... warm cockles.....

From what I understand, this mini-series was simply to see how much interest (read ratings) there was with a reworked Battlestar Galactica. If there is enough, they'll probably start a series over.

Oh, I also understand that a Farscape mini-series is going to be made to finish off the total cliffhanger series finale.

You people didnt do your research, did you?

Do you want to make this into an ongoing series, and under what circumstances would you?

The intention, from the very beginning, was to create a large-scale, four-hour PILOT to launch a new Battlestar Galactica television series. I am thrilled at what we're accomplishing, pleasantly shocked at how well many things have already come together, and beyond proud of the job Michael Rymer is doing with the cast and everything I've seen so far. I think the miniseries will stand on its own as a thrilling piece of entertainment and a worthy addition to the Battlestar Galactica canon. However, to be completely honest, if this isn't launched into a weekly series, I'd be disappointed. A series is ? and always was ? the central goal.

There was one "By your command."
apparently you missed it. But none of the rest...of course they haven't gotten around to needing to gamble and such...

Um, am I the only one who noticed that SciFi is going to start this as a series starting 7PM this Sunday??? They flashed it on the screen for about 5 seconds. "Battlestar Galactica series starting this Sunday at 7PM."

The way they ended the second episode - shocking us with Boomer (as one of the 12 cylon models) saying "we'll find them" - is a just a perfect way of kicking this off as a series. The two 2-hour episodes were basically an extended series premier. And you know that planet Earth will be involved in the series eventually (To the BG humans it's just a "legend", the 13th colony).

I thought that SciFi said they were going to show the whole two episodes Miniseries at that time, not the start of more new episodes.

Boomer is hot. Hmmm...a dozen Cylon sex-crazed Boomers...😛 So many possibilities...

At least we got one "BY YOUR COMMAND." Not sure what order that was a response too, though.

I was wondering if Baltar's Cylon/Human Test was legitimate. Remember, he spouted a bunch of technobabble when Tigh asked him about it, and he didn't sound very confident, and he started his testing intending to prove that that one guy was a Cylon.

1. If the test is legitimate, then he really found the Cylon/Human. Since they're going to test EVERYBODY on the Galactica (and eventually the fleet), they should be able to find Boomer/Cylon.

2. If the test is not legitimate, then Baltar's capable of doing extreme damage to the fleet. Adama thinks they've got a way to find out if someone is Cylon or Human, when he really doesn't. That leaves Boomer/Cylon (and any others) on the loose, completely free of suspicion.

Baltar's character is coming along nicely, as an integral part of the Galactica story, and not just as a bumbling buffoon as in the original series.

There could be numerous "replacement" cylons somewhere, awaiting current cylons to "die" so that they can accept their consciousness. If so, I don't see this contradicting the cylons' ability to have multiple copies of the same cylon model running around at the same time.

Hope they make a good series out of this!

I really disliked Katee Sackhoff as Starbucks. She is a Shatner style actor and twice as ugly. Otherwise, I liked the show pretty well.

Bootie! Bootie! Buck Rogers

Now this is a great way to travel in Cylon style.

She's alright but I don't care for the new Starbuck character. They replaced the likeable rogue with a mean and nasty butch.

Well, that was interesting. I was a fan of the original, and the whole starbuck going from a lovable rogue with a heart of gold to a nasty self centered stuck up b*tch really doesnt set well with me. The guy playing Apollo was lacking in any acting talent. Olson seemed forced, like he just wanted to get his lines over with and go on with whatever else his next job will be. Baltar was interesting though, I liked what they did with him.

Also, was way too much sex in this. Dont get me wrong, im as red blooded as any american man, but damn people ive not seen so much blatant sex sells crap since the first season of Enterprise. Yes, seven of nine is hotter than t'pol too.

I loved the battle music, but the sound effects were garbage and really made me feel like I was watching a cheesy video game ripped CG crap fest. Did anyone notice how "choppy" it got at the end of the 2nd episode when all those cylon fighters were launching? It reminds me of when I turn the AA too high in a game. Made me chuckle somewhere inside 😉

Despite all of this I still enjoyed it. I wouldnt be opposed to a series. Just dump that idiot that plays Apollo and the super b*tch starbuck image.

I noticed that too. Since my tv reception sucks (yeah, my cable company sucketh), I wasn't sure if it was the signal, bad CGI, or deliberately intended by the filmmaker.
