Is what happened at the end of the last episode similar to what happened in the comics?

MotionMan

In the comics, Sophia is never in the barn and is never lost from the group. However, if I recall correctly, Hershel tries to put a zombie in the barn and the zombies end up overrunning him. Two of his kids are bitten/killed and they are "killed" along with the previously locked up zombies.

Check out this:

Someone goes up to the hayloft and lures all the zombies to the back of the barn. Open the doors and shove them in. That's how they did it in the comics, or at least it's meant to go that way. The comic's conclusion to the farm is putting them in the barn goes wrong, and two of Hershel's children get killed by zombies. Then Rick's crew has to kill all the zombies.

Unless you are talking about the girl being a zombie then who knows.

Yeah, Sophia is never lost in the comics. Carl gets shot, but he's up and running in only a matter of comics.

One of Hershel's kids (Shawn IIRC) bites one of Hershel's "alive" kids, which helps to trigger the shootout.

Guess I missed the kevins post then about the girl.

i wish they'd just kill off the entire crew... god, daryl is about the only non-annoying character... then they can bring in a whole new crew and they can shoot each and every one of them in the head. at the farm no less.

Kill the old guy, over run his farm...start blockading the hell out of the area, raise animals/grow crops ... be safe forever.

It'sa TV series though, so they'll probably leave next season. My GF called it that she was in the barn the first time Glen saw it.

This season finale gave me an oddly relieved feeling.

I am relieved that the Sophia story is over- don't even feel bad about the outcome. I am also relieved that now maybe they will finally move on.

I don't have that sense of OMG I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT EPISODE though (like a certain BSG episode I fondly recall). Not at all. I will continue to "tivo" them but I really couldn't care less if they started airing next week or next year
