One thing that bugs me is that the zombies are a little too smart. I don't think of zombies as being able to problem solve, doing things like using stones to bash windows, climbing ladders, climbing fences, opening doorknobs, etc. They're supposed to be brainless walking dummies.
I think he and his wife were already having marital problems. Plus she could have already been cheating on him with his partner.
anyway, I was rather annoyed when they started smearing themselves with diseased zombie flesh, dude warns them to be careful not to get any on their skin or eyes, etc, then starts handing things to other people with an un-gloved hand, then gloves his un-gloved hand with his disease-ridden other hand.
THIS GUY DOES NOT KNOW PROPER STERILE TECHNIQUE! 😡
I'm guessing about 2 weeks or so. The flowers, that his cop friend left, were pretty dried out and wilted bad but not totally dead (all brown).
Judging from a line in the first episode he was in a coma at least a month. When he was shot there was no zombie apocalypse in the early stages as indicated by his complete lack of awareness about it when he woke. When they took a shower in the police station in episode one, the man commented that the gas had been off about a month. I think it could be basically logical that the zombie spread began shortly after he was shot. Friends and family visited for a while, then the zombie spread began and visiting him was less of a priority. You can judge from the military vehicles outside the hospital and the trapped and piled up bodies that the hospital itself was for a while at least somewhat of a command center and refuge center. Which would also mean that likely the remaining staff would have cared for the patients as long as possible. Considering he immediately drank water in a manner indicating extreme thirst, you can judge that likely he was nearing the edge of dehydration death. So likely he had someone caring for him up until a bit less than a week earlier.
So while judging how long he was actually in the coma is tough, it's probably a safe bet to say that the apocalpyse itself started anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months prior to his waking up, depending on speed of spread and epicenter of the original outbreak. If this is like Romero zombies, then perhaps less time as in Romero's world, anyone who died became a zombie bitten or not and the bite killed you.
what? 😕Was not happy with the smearing thing. And when the rain clouds started forming you knew where it was going. First beloved patriot in the armor.
what? 😕
oh, and did anyone else notice that this is probably the first time a prime-time show has allowed the word "n*gger?"
I'm talking outside of special permission, shows like Roots, or premium network shows that are not beholden to censors (HBO, Showtime, etc)
think he means "first beloved patriot in the armor" as in first flaw in otherwise awesome series
How is it a flaw though unless someone is just looking for something to be bothered by? I had no problems with the smearing and then raining part. Big deal.

If theres a flaw in the series I'd say its that theres no subtly. Like in the first episode when he just misses his wife and partner on the CB as he driving into Atlanta. It was like LOOK HE WAS SO CLOSE TO FINDING HIS WIFE OMG. Then the racist angle, LOOK AT THE RACIST GETTING SCREWED BY KARMA. Then the clouds OH NO ITS GOING TO RAIN. Everything is just over the top.
Maybe they just want to get the story moving in the first few episodes but hopefully they tone it down a bit as the series goes on.
idk, this isn't supposed to be Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Price, and Zombies 😉If theres a flaw in the series I'd say its that theres no subtly. I still don't see how those are considered a flaw though. Maybe a cheesy or lame way of doing or showing something (or over the top like you said) but a flaw? Hell, if so, every horror movie is a "flaw" from opening previews to past ending credits. The same for most every other movie for that matter. Or maybe I just don't know what the hell flaw means. lol 🙄
i wish he could have gotten to his duffel bag. waste of precious ammo makes keanu reeves sad. 🙁
Well they are suppose to go back next episode to try and save the guy they left on the roof. Maybe he will make a run for it for some ammo?:hmm:
wasn't he talking about hacksawing himself out?yeah I was wondering about that dude. didn't think they should leave him there like that even if he was being a total ass. but i was wondering what was the significance of the tool kit that got pushed over? they seemed to focus on it explicitly as if it had some meaning
