The only things that are probably different are the CPU and the video card. But you can use the same RAM, hard drives, Optical drives, etc. And many PCI cards are both Mac and PC compatible.

Apple isn't fully proprietary.

Oh and BTW another arguement for the PC is that apple tried to implement it's ADC for communication between the computer monitor and the computer it's self, a replacement for DVI. Anyways an industry standard would be the communication between the graphics card and the system being AGP or PCIe. Sure they may claim to be AGP but you try to stick a PC video card in a mac or vice versa and see what would happen.

I know that won't make a valid argument, which is why I pointed it out about 3 times already. Stupid to purchase separate hardware for you Mac? The only things that are probably different are the CPU and the video card. But you can use the same RAM, hard drives, Optical drives, etc. And many PCI cards are both Mac and PC compatible.

Apple isn't fully proprietary.

BTW, what are these "industry standards" you speak of?

Oh and BTW another arguement for the PC is that apple tried to implement it's ADC for communication between the computer monitor and the computer it's self, a replacement for DVI. Anyways an industry standard would be the communication between the graphics card and the system being AGP or PCIe. Sure they may claim to be AGP but you try to stick a PC video card in a mac or vice versa and see what would happen.

I believe ADC was quite idiotic. But, the cool thing is that with an ADC compatible monitor, everything runs off of one cord, the ADC cord. My video card has an ADC port, the stock ATI RAGE 128 AGP card in G4. I don't use it.

You missed what I was talking about. I didn't say a PC PCI video card would work in a Mac. I said "And many PCI cards are both Mac and PC compatible." I am talking about ethernet cards, etc.

And ATI does make PCI video cards for Mac.

Running with a P4 3.0Ghz and a 9800 Pro here. Runs pretty well at 1024x768 with most details at medium or high. Should run just fine on a 6600GT.

I'm running it on a 2.8C@3.5GHZ oh and the 9800PRO is overclocked to XT speeds. I play at medium details at 1280X960, 4XAA and average about 40FPS. Hopefully some patches will increase performance in the game.

If it meets the requirements, I should technically run on it but I wouldn't try it with any FX card. If you do though try it on an FX card, it would be a very good idea to read the readme included because it has tips for particular cards.
