My windows PC crashed today and i wasnt even using it. it just randomly crashed to the BSOD.

Upgrade from Windows 95 plz.

Im running XP. thanks though

learn how to use the OS then.

if you can read, i wasnt even using it. it was just sitting there

My windows xp machine has not crashed in weeks and i have not rebooted it in a month.

1. Is your hardware overheating?
2. Do you have malware?
3. Are you having driver problems?

My Windows XP machine has never crashed due to software problems. It crashed a few weeks ago because my brand-new 6800GT was messed up (got it RMA'd though).

I hate restoring comps sometimes.

Macs suck because:
1. They are way overpriced (almost double the $$$ for the about the same power as a PC)
2. They are proprietary
3. Most software is for PC
4. Most good hardware is for PC (i.e. try finding the latest radeon or gforce for a mac)
Plus more I'm sure, but those are some basic ones

Example: I just got a Dell laptop for $1900. If mac had the exact same thing the price could easily be $3000

My opinion, stick with PC. If you don't like Windows, get linux

i like the Mac OS. its nice and clean and easy to use. Everyother aspect of macs are horrible. Gaming, cost, looks.

Gotta' love all these people whining, "Mac sucks cuz it don't play gamez!"

Guess what? Not everyone does? Want games? Get a console or PC on the side.
Want a machine you don't need to reformat every 6 months.... well... Windows isn't your best bet. ;)

If you can use Linux, use it. I have software that's PC or Mac only. For me, getting rid of my game library is a GOOD thing! All that wasted time put to productive use... wow... I'd get more done than I even have in 20+ years of computing! :D

Anyone want to trade this brand new Dell 4700 system for an iMac G5?

Too bad you wouldn't know IBM Thinkpad T or Apple PowerBook build quality if you saw it.

And btw, Linux is generally a poor laptop OS.

I like PCs better.

People that go for Mac OS go in a different direction than people that go for Linux. Windows is in the middle of the two. The spectrum I'm talking about is customization/optimization, and that's half the fun of being a PC nerd.

exactly. You get a mac AS IS. No changes possible.
with a windows you can really have it the you want, and running it's best at your customization.
as i said, Windows FTW

As usual, the clueless speak out of their boxer shorts. :frown:

The Powermac towers are every bit as customizable as a PC, usually using the same parts. You simply have no idea....

My frown still applies, the OS is more customizable than you think.

problem is that on a mac you have to buy everything that is specially made for mac. only mac video cards, mac keyboards, etc. also, why is there no full screen mode?

Are you retarded? So are you saying that a Mac video card will work with a PC? You have to buy a PC video card for your PC. You can't throw in a Mac video card in your PC and expect it to work. You have no argument here. You can use any keyboard with your Mac. My friend uses the Microsoft keyboard combo with his Mac mini. And what is this full screen mode you speak of?

When you press the green plus in the top, it doesn't go to full screen. you can still move the window around and the desktop is still visible. also windwos that are big enough to not go fullscreen won't.

plus you can't exit a window by dragging the mouse to the top corner as far as it will go and clicking, the lazy way.

It only maximizes to the needed size. This is so you can put two windows side by side for better multi-tasking. This is especially good when you have a 30".

Because it's a stupid attempt at trying to make Macs look bad. I had to give him an explanation for his stupid statement.

You are quite retarded yourself, Mr. Philippine Mango.

Yeah why does Apple insist on using proprietary technologies such as USB, PCI, SATA, DDR, DVI, 802.11g, etc. etc.?
