Well, to summarize things:
1. Don't pair up a value board with an Athlon/Athlon XP. If you can buy an Athlon, you can buy a premium board.
2. stick with SDRAM on this one, I'm using two sticks of generic 256 PQI PC133 RAM in it, and no memory problems since Day 1.
3. Sometimes, flashing the BIOS does wonders.
4. Sometimes, WinXP can do wonders, especially with IRQ conflicts (the only problem I had)
5. Use a powerful PSU, the best you can buy. I'm operating it on a 235W one, but haven't had any problems so far too.
6. I'm a noob, this was the first system I actually built from scratch; and I can tell you it's very easy to configure: All I did was set Primary and seconday masters to auto, set the time right, enable SMART, set FSB to 100/133 and disabled PCI IRQ.... although it doesn't have a complete array of overclocking features. However, noobs shouldn't be overclocking in the first place anyway.
