Sigh, EA is bad, but BoA is so much worse and should have toppled EA easily instead of the other way around.

It means nothing if BOA wins a poll. Everybody already hates BOA. But EA winning is significant because it brings attention to their crappiness.

Whoring DLCs, running so much IP to the ground and making a content delivery system that is worse than Steam in every single way? They deserve all their flak they can get.

I can have just as much fun, even MORE fun, given 10$ and some colorful free indie game..................

Sure you can, but it says "easily the most expensive" as in nothing is more expensive.

Again it's a sad world when people hate a company that essentially makes toys with zero bearing on real life. Or maybe just those people are sad.

Banks cause real world problems, phone companies cause real world problems, a car manufacturer can cause real world problems, Walmart can even cause real world problems. A video game company? Nope. Just internet nerd ragers. The sooner you realize this the sooner you'll have a much happier life. If you hate a video game company you probably go through life pretty pissed off in general.

Ooo, so next time a game company refuses to fix a bug I paid REAL MONEY for I will just say "it's OK because Exxonmobil screws me even more!"

Sir, you are real funny.

Whatever. EA was a horrible company. Key word: WAS. In the last ~8 years they've dramatically changed their format from raping and pillaging other companys' development.

This is so out of date I don't even know where to begin, so I won't.

All of the personal issues I have had with EA came in 2011. I have to say that your opinion of EA being a better customer based company now is based on perception more than reality.

"We're sure that British Petroleum, AIG, Philip Morris, and Halliburton are all relieved they weren't nominated this year. We're going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide."

To be fair, they do have a point. EA is a mere annoyance compared with other corporations that actually do harm. EA is just a video game company.

Quoting your personal experiences against mine and then saying that mine weren't reality is pretty hilarious.

They ruined Simcity within the last 8 years.

Lol, douche. There's a tilde there for a reason.

Edit for facts: SimCity wasn't ruined because of EA. It was ruined because Will Wright's original dream of developing a dollhouse simulator was finally pursued [The Sims]. At the same time SimCity fell through with other developers working on the project. EA was the only company that took Wright's idea and ran with it. So, if you want to say that EA "inadvertently destroyed SimCity," you would be correct. If you're to blame anyone, it'd be Wright for pursuing his dream, and we all can agree that telling someone not to pursue their dream is just plain wrong. While I, and I'm certain many others didn't care for The Sims games, it was very obviously popular and did really well.

FYI, there's another SimCity in the works.

As far as I'm concerned the only destruction that EA really did was to Westwood Studios - one of my favorite developers ever. And that was what...14 years ago? The Command and Conquer series went to crap and Dune II, one of my favorite games (which was the precursor to the real-time strategy games that Blizzard ended up becoming so popular for, aside from Diablo) didn't get much of a chance. I think this is where all of the animosity stems from for EA, and now anytime anything negative is found about any of EA's games (which are A LOT since they parent a crap-load of companies), people get all uproarious.

It's just easier to blame EA directly even though you don't know for certain they had direct influence for poor decisions or development. A lot of speculation and rooted angst, which is now unwarranted.

Hey, its not your livelihood they ruined. As long as they keep pumping out games you like what's there to complain about? So what if your sneaker's were made by 8 year olds in sweatshops. They're kick ass aren't they!

The real point is that online surveys now reflect the lowest common denominator. Especially where video games are concerned. It gives those vocal minorities more power then you might want them to have, but if want a fair fight you'll have to look elsewhere then online.

Traditionally, the Poo has been delivered on its little red pillow. But this year, we'll give EA three different color options for its pillow, though in the end it's still the same old Poo.

I lol'd.

internet nerds are dumbsticks.

You shouldn't call yourself a dumbstick. I have never had any issues with BoA, and the others I asked about it also never had an issue. Please tell me what they have done to you or someone you know that makes them the worst company in America? I am tired of reading broad generalizations! Give me specifics or I will never see things your way.

They were one of the banks we had to bail out and helped put us in our recession? There are plenty of stories of them screwing people on their mortgages and kicking them out of their houses and/or ruin peoples credit. (I believe we even had one or two of those in the off topic forum from members here).

Sorry, but a video game company does not even begin to come close to any one of those things alone. I hate EA quite a damn bit, but they are produce stuff that is purely optional and considered luxury items. Do I agree with what they are/have done to the gaming industry? Hell no, but for them to surpass a company that help fuck over our entire country? Not even close.

Perfect response by EA. People have short memories.

Again, I need something specific. Did they indeed take a bailout, and if so how much? Did they pay it back? Why were they in financial trouble inthe first place? Did they gamble on the housing market like nearly all other banks and thus lost at the same time? What specifically did they do to hurt people? Did they forclose on people even though they were in good standing with their mortgage? Did they suddenly change the terms on mortgages or other accounts after they were set up to make it untennable to the customer?

What I am trying to say is, what actually happened? I understand why people are upset that an entertainment company won worst company of the year. What I am not seeing is any real analysis on why the opposing company was really worthy of winning that title.

Have you been living in a cave the last couple of years? I mean honestly, how could you have NOT seen this stuff. I don't watch much TV at all and it was plasterer all over for quite some time and on every news website.

Basically you know all that crap that happened with the economy and bails out and such? Well BoA was right in the middle of it along with all the other big name banks.

Sorry, I'm not going into specifics, this should be something everyone has some knowledge of by now if you are pass your early teens. Just being one of the companies responsible for screwing up our economy is more than enough to show it is worthy of winning the title over a shitty game company.

That, and the fact that I didn't vote... so I guess I shouldn't complain. :hmm:

You shouldnt complain about the poll, but you have every right to complain about EA. Their control of the gaming community has a nasty ripple effect on titles they dont even produce.

I dont watch any TV other than Nickolodian and Disney, and I defenitely don't waste my time watching the news as I have found it is usually rather slanted and sensationalized.

I know of the bailouts, but Bank of America wasn't one of the companies I have heard about in relation to that. I asked my neighbor who has multiple accounts with Bank of America and his Mortgage about it and he said he never heard of any specific problems with them in the news and he is happy with them. I had my Gov't CC through them and they were fine to deal with at that time. Never had an issue, but my exposure was rather limited. Other than saying they helped destroy the ecomony without any specifics, I fail to see how they are worse than other larger banks that I have heard bad press on.

I don't get the hate for Phillip Morris. I bought stock in them five years ago and so far that investment has done better than any of the mutual funds in my 401(k). I <3 PM.
