Update 1

Biostar 965PT ver c2

Vcore=1.31 Vdimm=2.18

400x8=3.2g seems orthos stable (3 hours). Don't know the temp as no monitor program installed.

Update 2
475x8=3.80g, Super pi 1m=13.6 sec

can you say what the voltages are for that second OC? What's your NB voltage and temp on it? I have a DFI P965, so looking to see what I can push the NB too.

I set 1.49v for Vcore in bios, but it's reported during boot in bios as 1.47v. I didn't change NB voltage. Temp on NB, I don't know.

you hit 475FSB without raising the NB voltage? Go check the BIOS to make sure it wasn't already higher than it should be. Report back. I'm interested in this situation because the NB usually needs a higher voltage to run at higher-than-stock clocks.

to clarify, I'm not accusing, just really interested in hearing this one out.

PC health Status:

Vcore 1.47~1.48
NB/SB Voltage 1.28V
DDR Voltage 2.18V
CPU Temp 43
System Temp 28

Vcore set in BIOS 1.500V, Vdimm set by jumper to 2.2v
8x475=3.8g
Vcore set to 1.525v, PC health Status reported as 1.500v, I can boot the machine to 500x8=4g, but can't enter into vista.

I wish NewEgg would post the E6420 already, even if it's not yet in stock. I want to see an estimated price from them so I know if I should add it to my wishlist or buy it elsewhere. =P

I checked Sparco and found the E4400 on sale as well for $153. Could have waited another week and saved $20 but availability might be bad then.

Install the Intel TAT
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/392/mirrors.php

I wish I could install TAT. Well, okay I lied, I can install it. I wish, however, that I could run it. It crashes immediately upon launch, stating:
"Error enumerating On Demand Clock Modulation support.
Terminating Tool."
Boo TAT. However, is it accurate? I have heard all apps have trouble reporting accurate temps due to the location of the thermal sensors on the Core2Duos, and that it causes higher-than-normal readings. Any truth to that?

Ordered my E6420 from BLT 4/16/07 and got it 4/17/07. Very impressive and I've never ordered from BLT before.

Yah, got mine today. Can't wait for the other components to arrive.

What are the rest of you overclocking to?

Wonder how long the prices for e6400/6420 can hold.
