Vcore=1.31 Vdimm=2.18

400x8=3.2g seems orthos stable (3 hours). Don't know the temp as no monitor program installed.

Update 2
475x8=3.80g, Super pi 1m=13.6 sec

500x8=4g bootable, but can't come through the vista. Vcore set 1.525v, BIOS 1.500v.

These types of companies prey on the impatient by tricking them into ordering. Once they have your order, you'll find that your CPU won't ship until around the official release date.

i just got a call and a recent email confirmation stating my E6420 is shipping out today and should be here Friday (as per my 2-day shipping choice).

I got a call and confirmation too that it'll ship out today.. I ordered Next Day shipping however.. 😉 One of the few places I've bought from that let me charge the shipping to my employer.. 😀

Hopefully it comes tomorrow.. cause I'm dying to setup my new PC!
 
What's the difference between this and the E6600? The E6600 will be right around the same price starting on 4/22, and it runs at 2.4GHz.

Any reason an 8x multi would be better? I'm planning on some overclocking, but I want to keep it as near to silent as possible, so I'm not trying to push it to the extreme.

as Imported said... I'm impatient, but also I needed to buy now, I was looking to the Xeon 3050 until this came out at the last minute. I sold my CPU and also already had the other stuff ready to be ordered. Got the DFI too, it was posted on Newegg at the last minute.
 
How likely is it that the price will be @183 on the 23nd? I have been holding off building my new computer for over a month now waiting on the 6420 and I can wait 11 more days if I can get it for sure for $183 on the 23rd....
