Exactly! Youd learn that in any college level psychology course ;)

(didn't read the whole thread... respnding to the flaming...)

X-Clan you should be proud of your accomplishments, including your high IQ score.

OT is pretty much the same as MENSA. People stroking thier own and each other's egos and belittling others... save the fees and just hang out here.

Edit: Just to let you know, the population average on that iq test is 100. Prepare to be demoralized to the max! Barely anyone can even reach 130. If you can get 140+ you are my GOD!!

I'm looking at the test right now and I can't tell if it's timed. But according to the instructions I can use reference materials, calculators, and computers. So um... what does that mean exactly?

I'll be back later to post my score... if I don't give up first!

edit: hrm, nothing works after #5. 500 error.

I'm looking at a job right now that my cousin has been doing for years. Pay is more than 3x what I make now, 3 days off a week, ~4 months off a year (mostly summer months), and expense account money (money to live on which isn't taxed). The job doesn't require an education. I estimate that after 3 years I could retire comfortably.... but I may end up enjoying it as my cousin has. I could go to college for 3 years, come out in debt and sick of ramen noodles... or I could do this job and be far enough ahead to do what I want. I may be optimistic with 3 years, but I'm sure I'm not far off. There are high paying jobs out there for people willing to travel. Most people have to leave home to go to college anyway.

What good is intelligence if you don't nurture/use it ?

given the way i was raised and where i am now, i am livin better than anyone else related to me, that includes aunts uncles and so on...they all have college educations.....dont tell me i was stupid to drop out cuzz you dont what its like to work 2 full time jobs and a part time...yes that over 100 hours a week to get ahead. you have no clue what my situation was. i am now 25 and make good $$$ own a house i bought 4 years ago, am married with kids, put 16% in my 401k and have full benefits.....and I plan to go to college in the next year.....think before you speak

Sorry, I have to agree with Roger and others here. An education is still the best thing you can get. Especially a college degree. That is great that you have all that IQ, but if you don't/can't apply yourself, then it all goes to waste. I personally know people who have very high IQ's, and found college a struggle due to applying themselves. Even people who go to "schools for the gifted".

Roger wasn't belittling you. He was merely pointing out you made a bad choice in dropping out of school. If you can't see that was a bad decision, then you must have a lower IQ than your test scores indicate. :)

I know what it's like. I was working 3 jobs AND still in school. I never finished 4 classes to complete the degree because I started a big $$$ full time job. I plan on finishing those up now. I'm married too. I own our house.

You are a statistic anomoly, just because you succeeded doesn't mean the act of dropping school isn't stupid. I'm only 22, I have 401k and full benefits, house, wife, two cars, etc.

If you bought your house around 20/21, I'm wondering where your priorities were? What were you trying to "get ahead" of? I'm not bashing, just asking.
