This has annoyed me throughout my playthrough of Inquisition: when you look at your character page--the grey bars at the bottom next to shield, sword, helmet...whatever. COMPLETELY USELESS. You can't even see what they describe, let alone control them outside of a few pieces of gear.
Yeah, those stats tend to be mostly useless, however, you can still get the info you seek, it is just not at a glance. Take a look at level up/skill window, then click on attributes. The attributes are mostly control by weapon and armor slots. I'm not sure I dislike that. It is also one of the reasons crafting is so powerful, as you get to pick the stats you get.
I most definitely miss the tactics of Origins and DA2. At first, I ignored it, but the tactics made me enjoy the replays a lot more.
As far as difficulty goes, there is still Nightmare difficulty, and there is the ability to make AE spells effect everyone, friends and foes. If you use those, the difficulty would rise quite a bit. That and not out leveling every area.
