Draft Question

3 words for you to say to the draft board "I am gay." I personally am too old to be drafted but no way am I fighting in Bush's Iraq War of choice.

Just to preempt the inevitable comments about Bush initiating the draft:

A bill authorizing a draft must originate in congress and pass both houses before it comes anywhere near the president?s desk.

Short of a major conventional war breaking out, there will be no draft.

Pack and leave now - Apparently that you do not feel that this country is worth supporting nor appreciate the sacrifice that others have given to allow you to act like a spolied brat.:brokenheart:

Our country is worth defending, but there is no war of denfense going on, just more lies for greed.

Shhh... don't tell the Republicans that. They're convinced every non-Christian is out to get them.

You have a lot of credibility thinking those that support the Battle of Iraq do so for religious reasons. You're just brimming with common sense.

IRL, every Republican I know goes on and on about "Muslim terrorists" or "Muslims" or some other anti-Muslim diatribe when referring to the situation in the Middle East. Then they go on to blame "non-Christian influences" for all the problems in America. Just my exprience. Maybe I'm not as accurate as a FoxNews poll, but my county is fairly red...

Guess you just have a very religious-oriented perspective... not uncommon for those that fear the Christian boogeyman. BTW, I'm not religious in the least.

IRL, every Democrat I know is an unemployed loser that used to work for a record store or at McDonald's.

I thought you guys always were trumpeting about how this is the greatest economy in 20 years. Is 49% of the voting age population really unemployed?

I'm not a Republican. Are you so extremist that you have a 'you're either with me or against me' type attitude? That's pretty dangerous.

But yeah, it's fun to make fun of extremist Democrats and watch them cry when someone mirrors their own statements.

Maybe I should have edited my statement and included 'some 45 year old music store employees, McDonald's workers, and janitors'

You know what else you're not?

You're not in Iraq! If you believe in this war so much go and enlist - the military desperately needs new people.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I keep saying that, yet the RW chicken*h*ts don't listen. Either they're "too busy", "have too many important things to do", are brain-dead, or a multitude of other hollow excuses.

But that's pretty stupid. You don't have to be 100% directly involved in whatever you support.

Active conflict with N. korea.
Depends on what sort of exact conflict you mean, but any realistic one isn't going to involve the US initiating things when we're still heavily involved in Iraq. If North Korea invades South Korea, the South Korean military forces are capable of dealing with North Korea on their own. South Korea has an active military of over 500,000 and over 3 million troops in reserves. They also have far superior weaponry to North Korea's, which is mostly spectacularly obsolete, and the gap is growing more in South Korea's favor all the time. South Korea is capable of defeating a North Korean invasion on its own, and a US draft certainly wouldn't be needed to defeat an invasion.

Supporting the state is not supporting the country. I hate this fallacy.
