It looks like it will be a great camera, but I'm more excited about the new 60mm macro.

My co-worker sent me the link yesterday.. i take pcitures everyday (check my photoblog in my sig) and it might be a worthwhile upgrade for me. The thing I dont like is the fact that I'll lose my option to use my spare powershot G2 battery on my 300D... damn...

The same old design flaw
It's getting old now but once more I'm surprised to see Canon hasn't addressed the 'same old' design flaw in the operation of the CF door which has been a problem in this line of digital SLRs since the EOS D30. As soon as you open the CF door the camera powers down and you lose any buffered images which haven't yet been written to the CF card. What's even more amazing is that the ever-so-simple fix has been available on the PowerShot G series since the G3. The fix is simply to have a beep alarm which sounds if you open the door and images are still being written, this beep sounds until writing has completed.

Yeah that is a PIA. I've been nailed by this flaw several times now. :|

Nice find. Looks like they are still posting the review on the site. I can't go any further than page 3.
Sucks that I just bought a 20D. This looks just as good.

Eh, I bought one too...so it's a sunk cost
But I still think the 20D is better-built, designed to take more of a licking. Then again, since I baby my stuff, it would have probably made more sense for me to have bought a 350D and some nice L glass instead.
hahah, does the L series lens cost more than most camera?
Though I must say that Canon is being a biatch about new lenses. What they offer now are pretty old designs (aside from the EF-S lenses). L lenses, though great, do tend to be heavy too. Canon needs to revamp their lineup, and I am excited to see Sigma and Tamron taking up some of the slack.

Wow.. I'm shocked that Canon actually gave features that people were requesting after the 300D. This is almost a cheaper 20D.
FEC, more buffer, AF modes, metering modes, drive mode, USB2, more configurations. Also more megapixels, though most never really care about that too much.
Nothing that I really need as an upgrade from my 300D though. I want 1.3x crop or just 1.0x before I upgrade.
I haven't seen the review for the 350D but the 20D has this flaw but its not really that much of a problem because why would you need to open the CF door right after you've shot 30 pics in a row? How often would you do such a thing.

1- I used to have slow ass IBM microdrives.
2- I would frequently shoot a lot of pix and need to change media immediately. This was during storm runs.
The "problem" has been fixed by adding more cameras to my arsenal. The severe weather has left but I hear it's coming back.
