First, about the double standard for race. The racist slur against blacks is a reminder of a terrible time in history. It goes back to a day when millions of people were killed. Millions other had their lives taken from them and were denied acknowledgement as human beings, but were instead considered mindless property. The word is symbolic of the inferiority assigned to blacks that allowed the institution of slavery to exist. This will never be funny, nor should anyone try to make it funny. The "cracker" word has no historical basis that i can find and so there aren't any pent up feelings about it. It's just a word, it's not associated with death or anything "real". N* became taboo because blacks said we don't want to hear you call us that anymore. If whites make a movement like that, cracker will stop too. That's unlikely because for the reasons I listed above, whites don't really care enough.

Teenagers aren't being given more responsibility. Whether or not they are taking more is debatable. Each generation thinks they have it harder than every other generation, in truth it's all subjective. The world is seen as more dangerous now. This also might not be true. I personally believe that it seems more dangerous because each incident is instantly broadcast across the globe on 20 channels, and then rehashed 24hrs/day for the next month. Adults do things like keep kids inside for lunch to protect them. Maybe they're worried that all these kids that now have cars might drive away and not come back to class? I could leave for lunch only 4 yrs ago, so maybe you're just in the wrong school.

It's illegal to drink under 21. Deal with it. As long as it's illegal, it's pointless to complain about how hard they enforce it. You're complaining about the wrong thing. Instead of complaining about the perfectly normal and expected act of enforcing a law, complain about the fact that the law is there. Don't make the police and RAs the scapegoats. They're doing their job, the kids are the ones violating the law. Legal voting age is 18. If students feel their rights are infringed upon, they can do something. Vote in people that will lower the drinking age, or simply make their feelings known to existing politicians. The problem is, 18-21 year olds vote less than anyone else. Maybe they should put the bottles down, and really take some responsibility for making the world the way they think it should be. Whatever groups that don't represent themselves will find themselves taken advantage of by those who do.

The part about weight is the weakest point of your essay. Overweight guys are found to be attractive, while overweight girls are not. So? It's a matter of personal preference and you can't blame society or anyone else. Nor can you change personal preferences. How come girls can be short and still get dates, but a short guy has to be famous to get them? At least weight is more controllable than height.

Men on the average are more athletic than women. The average guy can run faster, jump higher, hit harder than women. This applies to the elite also. High school guys run faster than Marion Jones' world record time often. Only a handful of WNBA players can dunk, while almost every college guy can dunk. Being a male gives you a competitive advantage, and it's unfair to let males on one team if the other team doesn't have any. Letting a female on a male team isn't as bad because she doesn't have an advantage from the start. In truth, they should have their own team also, but it's generally accepted that you'll never have enough females for a football or wrestling league in high school. If it meant enough to you, you could have formed a male volleyball team, and then encouraged other schools in the area to do so too. There were guys at those other schools that wanted to play too, they just needed to know where to find each other.

I agree with you about the draft. I can't find a good counterargument for why women shouldn't be drafted along with men. Many of them would be rejected when they reported for a physical, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have to take it just the same.
