For at least 1 Rep, double your bodyweight. Preferably RAW (i.e. no knee wraps) and drug free.

Other double bodyweight squatters, check in here! I know Pantlegz and Deeko can.

My story: After 14 weeks of training with a world class coach, I finally hit the milestone and dam it feels good (it was also after a back strain due to a bad deadlift that shelved me for 2 weeks, so technically 12 weeks). I used to hate squatting (body is mostly chest/torso), and could only rep 225 on the stupid ass Smith machine at the end of January - pathetic I know. Today hit 385 at 190, legally RAW with only a belt and it went up rather quick. I'm still in disbelief, it's something I never thought I would ever achieve in my life. In fact, my goal has always been a RAW double bodyweight bench so I never cared much about legs. Amazing what hard work, a strict diet, and proper rest will do for an old man like me (over 35). I have a PL meet in June and am hoping to hit 1200 lbs, but we'll see. Deadlift is kind of lagging a bit and my weakness (only 425lb max), lower back still isn't accustomed to having that much pressure but it seems to get better each session.

Feel free to share your story of such an achievement.

7/29/2014: 405lbs@196
11/22/2014: 435@200
3/21/2015: 455@201
4/11/2015: 500@205 High bar RAW. Equipment used - standard leather belt, neoprene knee sleeves to keep joints warm, wrist wraps.

I'm sitting at 200 lbs.. a 400+ squat is no issue for reps, but then again I use; or so I am told.

No belt -> this isn't the WWE
No wraps

Not there yet, and based on my progression schedule I won't be there for several more months.

And I have to use knee sleeves and belt because of joint and spine issues where the risk of injury from not wearing them is too great.

SD, how much rest were you doing? I've found when I'm doing heavy legs, if I'm really pushing myself, I may need up to 4-5 days rest before my soreness goes away.

I'm afraid to even attempt going heavy squat though because I have questionable knees and hips. I usually stick to dead lifts, but I'm sitll not at 2x BW yet. I'll probably hit 1.5x BW later this year.

Congrats. No shame in using a regulation belt either, you only get one back. Knees can be replaced.

I don't think a knee replacement is going to be in any shape or form as good as in athletic terms as your real knees.

I have done so in the past with no belt or sleeves/ wraps.

The most I did last year was 180x3x4x4x2 reps @ at 93.5kg.

The most this year has been only 170 for 4reps. Just been spanking the volume with 5x5 and got up to 165 with no belt.

Well, we squat on Tuesdays and deadlift on Saturdays so 3 days rest between overlapping accessory legwork and a week on the actual lift. I'm often deadlifting with sore quads but it doesn't really matter as long as your lower back and hammies are ok. For example, a couple weeks ago I only did up to 3X315 because my lower back didn't feel right. Last week I hit 425 because it felt good. Overall, I wouldn't worry about the leg soreness, just push through it and your body should learn to recover faster - although I wouldn't max out if you're still sore because you want to be close to 100% on lifts that could cause injury.

Good job on sticking with your deadlifts, you will get there just don't push it too hard. Deadlift is the lift I respect most because one bad rep at high weight can equal disaster for your back.

Maybe I'll create a double bodyweight deadlift thread, should get a bit more responses than this thread.

Very nice power there Koing. 443lb squat at 198 is dam good. I'm aiming for around the same level next (2.25x to 2.5x).

Squat calculator has you at 425lbs right now, so you're still within 4.7% of your max.

Geez... 175 right now... can probably squat 250 once?

I would think my back and knees would just crumble/explode if I tried 350.

Yeah I enjoy deadlift a lot and I think I have pretty good form. I have yet to need straps and I'm convinced I never will. I saw a guy around my body weight DL 405 a few weeks ago, with no straps, no belt, and went all the way down to the floor with the weight like a real man, not some half ass stuff like I see some of the guys who over compensate at the gym.

I've always had more respect for people with true form and complete exercises through an an entire range of motion. I literally get angry when I see people at the gym doing pull ups and they go to 90 degree elbow bend. I want to yell at them and tell them to go back down to the hang. I mean, what good do you get only working your muscle 50% of the time??

To be doing 2x BW at full ROM is very impressive.

You mean I can't wear my Stone Cold Steve Austin replica heavy weight championship belt at the gym anymore? Damn it!

Maybe not right now, but by the time I blow out my knees, I'll be able to get them replaced with robot legs. I'll be kick through walls and stuff!

I haven't tried 2x my body weight, but at about 165lbs, I repped 275lbs Monday, so I am sure I could 1RM 2x. That was a PB for reps!

Gosh, I don't go to a gym and no squat rack but I do deadlifts. I could probably do 200 at most I'd think @ 167 lbs... sigh

My squat has been stuck at 235 for some time now but I am not sure I want to push much futher. With a lower spine fusion it makes me think twice about going super heavy even though I know my legs can handle it.

When I did 201 I was doing 5x5 on 158. I did 5x5 on 165 a few weeks ago with no belt. I'm sure if I tapered to go heavy I'd get a bit more than 201. My 1RM use to be more peaky in that I could get more of a 1RM for my given working sets. I haven't squatted over 180 in years but I've gotton better at repping on 180.

My goal is to FS 2x my bw at some point :)

How does your back feel when you squat 235? I have a prolapsed L4.

Added list in the OP! Smackababy will hopefully join the club soon when he attempts his 1RM.

Congrats guys. Will create the 2X deadlift and maybe a 1.5X bench thread today if I have time.

body weight 150#
tested an ugly 1RM monday = 350#
last squat cycle ended with 3RM @ 325 and 7 sets of 3 at 300 = BRUTAL
Will start a new strength cycle in a few weeks.

Deadlift = 2 reps at 450#, no idea my 1RM
Front Squat = best so far is 265 but that's after heavy back squats
Pressing is terrible: Bench = 200, Shoulder Press 135

Currently doing oly lifting cycle.
terrible numbers
160 snatch
215 CJ
230 clean

Really nice numbers there Sid for Squat and Deadlift, especially the triple weight Deadlift. Do you compete at all?

Added you to the OP.

I will probably never test my 1RM. And, I weighed myself at the gym (was just guestimating my weight when I posted) and I am actually 175. =(

I'm sure eventually, I will rep 2x, if I continue to see gains.

I missed out on our gyms strength contest - they replaced bench with shoulder press. The meet director say my video and asked if i thought about competing. My coach and I are looking at some items. Maybe powerlifting meet or a masters weightlifting meet.

I can pm videos of ugly squat and DL

How many reps of 275 did you hit? We could estimate your 1RM on the squat calculator.
