Are you saying that the majority of people don't eat what they catch/ kill?

no i'm saying that the majority of people that hunt and fish are not doing so solely for economic reasons, and if economic factors were the only ones involved, would probably just go to the supermarket.

I'm not arguing that the majority do it for survival but a lot more than you think do:

"you would be surprised how many people fish and hunt to lessen the impact of grocery bills.
I do."

Being from a coastal town I have seen many people who do it for survival. For every guy you see in a bass boat there are three that are fishing and shrimping (peta is against this too) from the shore so they don't spend the majority of their income on groceries. This is taking into account the relatively low cost of groceries at the supermarket.

PETA should come out and denounce evolution practices. There are predators and prey. Some times predators? toy with their prey, it is evident in nature. Not the nicest thing to do, but hey it happens. I am not gunna get all bent out shape if some mountain lion or shark attacks and mauls or kills me cause you know what, it happens.

This is the one area where Evolution and Creationism agree upon. Animals kill other animals for survival. It's necessary.

Some of you folks have to get back into reality and understand that fish, cows, dogs, cats, or whatever are not on the same evolutionary or creationary level as humans. I could give a rat's behind how animals that are used for food (no, that doesn't include domesticated, no-eaten animals) are handled, because when they're dead, they haven't a clue of how they lived. And yes, that includes putting them in confined quarters, cutting off beaks, letting them crawl around in they're own feces. As long as they're clean and desease free when they're on my plate is all that matters to me. Harsh, I know, but I don't really care.

Does anyone have a link to the article detailing how PETA paid for the legal defense of a guy that was firebombing buildings in their name?

John Stossel commentary

Thank you. :) Looks like I got a couple of the details wrong, but that's the one I was looking for. I just tried normal Google, not Google News. I must remember that for the future. Thanks again. :)
