We still need the technique for doing this in Opera! Hee hee - actually I only use Opera on my crummy 486 laptop, and have no idea whether it even has the annoying Geocities problem in the first place.
 
Neat trick Beast1284. Now can you tell me how some sites replace that little symbol with one of their choosing? I have always been curious how to do that.

do a search for &quot;favicon&quot;. I think all they need to do is put a favicon.ico in the root directory of the server and the browser automatically uses it, but I don't remember the specifics
