I have a 24 hour Carl's Jr. (and McDonalds and BK and Krispy Kreme and for that matter the top fast food chain in the Philippines Jollibee, but it's not good).

Trying to decide what to order; just ran 8 miles and I'm freaking starving!! KT
Try the no-brainer first, Six Dollar "Original" (or classic, whatever they call it). It's your classic burger, no onion rings, avocados, or weird sauces.

Ok, now I'm full. D:

Got a Western Bacon thickburger with waffle fries and an Oreo shake. $14.27!

zlbI6LQ.jpg

The shake was delicious as were the waffle fries; the burger? Not so much. The patty was bone dry which was the worst part; I have to imagine they overcooked it since it was like a hockey puck. I liked everything else around the burger; the bun was nice, the rings were tasty, and the bacon was good (though a little too thin).

I think if I go back I will have a chicken sandwich like the one someone mentioned above. Oh well, at least I'm not hungry anymore!

Time for a coffee...

Too late. That's what I should have done.

And I specifically said, shake good, waffle fries fine, try a different six dollar burger than Western, ah well.

At least the toppings weren't bad, it sounds like the burger was not as good as usual.

That does seem expensive for it.

The picture was so enticing! Fail by me. :( I'd go back just for a shake and waffle fries though; so good!

Edit: I think they screwed up the patty anyway, so it probably would not have mattered which burger I'd ordered to be honest.

Ya, the Western looks great in the photo, but... And I agree about the patty.

I was gonna say, you can try a different burger for dinner tonight, right?:)

That's a bit unusual for them to mess up the patty like that - I'd think they'd have more consistency. Maybe they had on older one cooked or something. Coulda complained.:)

Try the chili cheese burger next time you try a burger - the hawaiian is decent IF you like those things (teriyaki, pinapple).

Haha, I think I will still be full until late in the evening. Probably just beer for dinner tonight. :awe:

Unfortunately I took it back to the office to eat, so too much of a hassle to complain. Will definitely try them again soonish though. Thanks for the tips!

I don't want to say it'll be anything great when you try it - just IMO better than most fast food burgers. For good, as we said, diner, homemade etc.

That's all I'm looking for.

They opened a Five Guys on Robson street last week (so two blocks away from my work). I walked by there on Friday and it was lined up around the block. Crazy! Made me want a Five Guys burger.

i think this thread has shown one thing we all seem to agree on, Sonic sucks.

there is some unity in the burger chain world of opinions.

Just to repeat - I don't mind a five guys burger, they're also better than most fast food - just when I have one, it seems like 'this is good quality but just not that enjoyable'.

There's just some lacking in flavor for me. So it sure doesn't seem as good as the hype on the walls about all these 'voted best burger' awards. Just a 'fine burger'.

I disagree, their hot dogs + desserts/drinks are great. 44 oz strawberry limeaid during happy hour is like $1.50. THAT'S A DOLLAR FIFTY FOR A 44 OZ INVESTMENT IN DIABETES!
