I hate it when they show a person playing video games and you hear Atari or NES sounds in the background when they are playing an X-BOX or Playstation.

I get annoyed when the programs they use for "haxxoring" in any movie or tv show does that "cybery" sound whenever you touch the key (or any other action). I just can't stand that high pitch "cybery" noise.

Don't even get me started on the facial recognition, etc.
I don't watch CSI but Las Vegas has to be just as bad, if not worse.

best one actually in NCIS was the one where they had two college kids go missing.
then one of their friends hacks in NCIS and starts a messenger like program that speaks out what it types in that microsof mike type voice. wtf, as if its that easy for them break into a federal computer system and even more WTF at the fact they arent even bothered that its happening.
then McGee makes a bunch of blunders trying to track the hackz0r d00d through tracing IP's and then suddenly has a brainwave to look for the missing marines (or whatever they were) Dell Axim X5 which at this point has apparently been left on and connected to a WiFi hotspot for about 5 days. then we see McGee rushing round campus tracking this Dell Axim on his PDA which sports some awesome looking 3d gui bollocks and is pointing out radar style exactly where the dead guys PDA is. just wow.
i have a dell Axim X51v and well if you leave it on it'll shut itself down to conserve power within a few moments, if you happen to be keeping it active the battery wont last more than handful of hours with the wifi turned on. complete bogus. id love a PDA as potent as that with 5 day battery life whilst using WiFi

I remember that episode. I love NCIS. But yeah, super clear maginification of a picture is what irks me the most.

My top tv/movie tech-peeve is definitely the ability of some 'brilliant' computer person to hack into any system anywhere in just minutes. Encrypted? No problem, we'll just get around that. Firewalls, security software? Naaaah, not an issue. Hold on, let me just hack into this ultra secure super duper secret NSA database, gimme about 2 minutes. I'll download the 40 GB file with all the important secrets and load all the data into my analysis software in 30 seconds flat.
The second one has to be the ability to zoom in without pixelation -- on any picture, no matter the quality.
Finally there's always the "let me run this DNA against the database... ding... we have a match, it's Bob Smith's DNA!". Umm, yeah

Ever see Battle Programmer Shirase?
He soldered 4 keyboards together to a interface card, and used all 4 at over 5000APM. He was able to hack into the Russian space control center, and redirect 3 satilites to drop down onto a boat. that was AWESOME.

They need to create an algorithm for that.

I love the super fancy colorful and extra animated GUIs on PCs in movies. Think Transformers.

One of the reasons I don't watch CSI or those investigation shows. The only one that I really watch that does this quite a bit is Numb3rs. They slather it up with some fancy theoretical math theorem which I know nothing about so I can tolerate the stupid software with these intense 3d graphics they just whip together in 5 minutes. As long as Charlie comes out with something to the equivalent of the African Swallow theory, it's entertaining for me. I'm sure it drives math majors nuts though!
