I like Subway but I've become accustomed to going to certain locations because the produce and bread is often fresher, and some staff load up the toppings more. It's a tad hit or miss but overall I still think Subway is good.

I think Quizno's is a joke and I've never liked anything I've ordered from that stupid shithole. Subway is my sub shop of choice for sure.

i didnt anticipate such a heated debate
the delicious comment was out there(amd:D)
as for the ingredients, not beign a snob but cmon i could definitely make a better sadnwich using boars head meats @ the deli than subways can build, and yeah it would taste better for $6-7
but u know the convenience thing and all

it's bread, coldcuts, and some prepared meat. Why would this even be a topic?

Anything with great taste comes in marinating or sauces thrown on top.

Page 8. Turkey or Ham sub, $5.99 for a TWO foot sub on Wednesdays, a pound of meat (at least). So, that's $1 cheaper than the "mythical" tree-fiddy footlong. All week this week, tuna subs, $8.99 for a whole (2 foot long) and each half has far more than a subway footlong.. The rolls are fresh, baked in their own bakery. Only two choices though: white or wheat. You can feed a family of four with one of those subs. Sadly, they have the best pizza in town. Thursdays, a 16" cheese and roni is $5.99. I say sadly, because their pizza isn't that great - but better than the chain in town, and better than the pizza/chicken shop.

/I won.

If it's a toss up between Subway & Togo's, it'll be Togo's 99% of the time. Even if Subway is $1 - $2 less, Togos' bread is much better. If there isn't a Togo's nearby, I'll go to Subway. To answer the question, yes, Subway sandwiches are mediocre, but not horrible.

With that being said, I do like Subway's tuna & meatball sandwiches.

A two foot sub for $6 from a place called "Giant Food Mart" actually sounds kinda gross. I would probably only consider that for an 8 year old's birthday party, where the kids are gonna get sick on cake and candy anyways.

mmm... Taco Bell...

I love the mythical local sub shop where you can get 1lb of meat on a footlong for tree-fiddy, everyone always says their local place is better but no one ever gives specifics.

Everybody also cooks the very best steaks in the entire world.

Does anyone else miss the old way subway used to cut their sandwiches? Gouging the trench out vs cutting it in half? Used to be able to get it the old way, but now the bread is so flat they can't really do it anymore.

When I was younger I used to refuse to go to Subway for no other reason than the way they cut their bread. How the hell were you supposed to hold the sandwich when the entire upper half was basically gone? Plus, it was pretty obvious that the trench was just a way for them to skimp on the meat without it not seeming as such.

Now I refuse to go to Subway because it smells and is gross.
