Eh I've had more luck with them than some of the more expensive sub chains.
Though there I would normally only get ham double cheese. (well processed meat product and what they call cheese anyways)

I try not to risk death by food poisoning to much.

Spicy BMT on that Cheddar bread's pretty good, not outstanding or anything but I like it. The local mom and pop place SUCKS, it's like store brand meat on Wonder bread (seriously) the other semi close mom and pop place makes great sandwiches. But it's $8 for a 6 inch and there's not much meat on them at all.

I find Subway a decent sandwich at a decent price. I can get the sandwich exactly the way I want it in minutes so that is a big plus. I am not looking for gourmet when I go there and I don't have to pay the gourmet price. I'm not sure what people are looking for when they are so critical of places that aim at a budget meal. I can get stinking full of reasonably healthy food for around $7. That is hard to do any place else these days.

When fewer choices existed subway was better than a burger. When MUCH better sandwich shops like blimpies and the like came into existence subway lost its place in my palate.

I can tolerate subway if I need something quick and easy - I'll take it over any grease joint anyday. However it makes me shit like a goose.

At my age mediocre is sometimes more better. At least that is what my bowels tell me most of the time.

Subway takes some sammich making know how to make a tasty sub. If you just get the standard.. it's gonna taste bland.

For a $5 footlong, especially when a good month hits, I definitely wouldn't call subway mediocre. It's not only tastier than what you normally get for $5, it's also a helluva lot healthier.

Subway is much better health-wise than most fast food but that isn't saying much. I just had one last week in SoCal on a business trip and (unfortunately) it made me sick.

I like Subway, it is quite expensive though. I think it used to be more inline with other fast food like mcdonalds, but it's quite pricey now.

I actually really like Subway's bread, better than Jersey Mike's, Blimpe or Quiznos.

My problem usually stems from the employees not caring how they assemble the sandwiches. They typically rush through it not caring where things go or how the toppings are distributed.

The main problem with them is that they are overpriced. At a local place, for the same price, I can get a sub that is a bit longer, almost twice as wide, and piled with three times the meat and cheese.
