Does public shaming of a company work if you get a bad product? This guy hopes so.

Good thing he has an HD camera to record the first world problems he's having with his Porsche :D

In all seriousness though, neat car, bummer about the issues. I've found mass-produced stuff to be more reliable...my wife's Honda Civic will probably run until the end of time :D

And to answer the question, yes, yes it does. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Raise enough of a stink & the company will be forced to respond, either publicly or privately. Just looked what happened with the Mozilla CEO...

I'd personally like to piss in his gas tank after watching 15 seconds of it and turning it off, but that's just me I guess.

yeah his accent is annoying but once I decided to watch past 20 seconds, I felt for the guy. Especially because he's not a rich dick, just a regular dick as he mentioned.

That said, Porsche has a positive history on JD Power reliability lists. I would still buy one. Lemons happen. Cars built on a Friday happen.

I probably wouldn't buy a luxury or sports car whether or not I was rich, not into flaunting it as far as vehicles. But I have to admit it appears that car has a lot of issues. Doesn't sound like he's exaggerating it.

One thing he mentioned that I've seen in many expensive cars are the cover plates or trim pieces for electronics and other things. Once they're removed they never go back on quite right. Hit a bump, a bag of groceries leaned against the cover or, even a tap of a shoe from getting in and, that damn covers fall off. I've seen it in Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Rolls and now Porsche.

He ought to link to copies of work done then provide names and contact information of those who aren't making this right. A few hundred calls and spamming emails might move this along.

The dealership knew he wasn't rich. He wasn't worthy of a real Porsche.
They gave him the lemon to keep him out of the real Porsche owner's circle.

every mfg has lemons. This guy should have been given a new car when he had his first electrical fire. Any modern car will not be the same when they have to do so much electrical work on a brand new car. Fit will never be the same and little rattles and hums will become commonplace. If that much work went into a car after an accident it would get a rebuilt title.

What probably happened is there was a cascade effect of shorts that traveled up the harness overheating and damaging the weakest components and wiring as it traveled which is why there are shorts in the doors and other parts of the car.

I also wonder what hes not telling us. Do the new porsches have USB in the glove box or did this idiot have a best buy install a USB cable and fark up his car?

Shameful porsche isnt being stand up about this. Last year our local porsche dealer took back a car with less issues after the customer called customer relations at porsche corporate.

Seems to me this guy is an asshole lawyer who would rather make stupid videos than to fix his issues. His problem is hes asking for a refund not a new car...

Heh my sister's VW had all sorts of electrical issues. I have been lucky. Both of my Audi's were trouble free.

But I think electrical problems in any car are a real bitch to fix.

bullshit
it looks like every other Porsche since the 1960s

you'd think after 50+ years they'd have a newer look...

Your opinion. Some of us like the design. Be happy with your civic but dont hate on a awesome car because it doesnt look like a ford focus like every other new car...

electical issues arent just the domain of audi and old jaguars and Alfa Romeos.

Cars have so many electical systems now they make the early shuttle look like bicycle..

Audi has come a long way as they have updated and innovated many aspects of their production.

You guys want to complain complain about GM and their retarded bean counters killing people to save a dollar.

Watched the whole video. I never understand why a big company like VW wouldn't just replace the car at this point. Clearly the vehicle has a lot of issues from the factory. And their repairs aren't fixing the issues. Or the repairs are causing new issues. So they go to court and have to replace the car anyways. Or a state lemon law is invoked and they have to replace the car anyways.

The design is fine, hell I even like it. But to say it looks anything other than every other fucking Porsche on the planet is just retarded.

He did say he asked for a new car or a refund. They have been dicking him around for so long I can see why he would just want a refund now. I wouldn't want to deal with them any further if I were treated the same way he has been (assuming his portrayal is even remotely accurate).

I missed the part where he asked for a new car. I thought he just asked for his money back. Its easier to send something back to the factory than it is to get a refund. There has to be more to the story.
