Hasnt stopped the blowbag Kennedy. Kerry is a douchebag for sure, but Kennedy says these types of stupid remarks on an almost daily basis.

Of course I guess we all just assume it is the alcohol speaking so we dont take it serious?

I do agree his run in 08 is over. Noway will this slip up be left alone by the republicans or swift boat for vets who will magically reappear if he runs.

Well, finally. All I've heard on the TV at lunch today was about Kerry's "joke" that basically said he thought our troops were all morons. There was never a sound byte or clip, or even a transcript to show what exactly he said. My guess would be that the more the clip got out, the more people would realize what he intended was a quip aimed our the Pres, and not the troops, so by talking about the "outrage" rather than the actual words, the spin machine can crucify him (and therefore, all Dems) that much easier.

That said, what he said *was* pretty boneheaded. It's sorta funny when you think about all the Dems who criticize Bush for being socially and verbally inept, yet their latest "best offering" shows himself to be equally as awkward and out of touch with reality. But Rove > any Democratic spin meister.

 I love our troops.

You and your dipwad Commando In Chief have a lot more to LOL about, as long as you understand that it stands for Lies On Lies. :|

There should be hell to pay for that comment.

And how about Tony Snow's comment when asked about troop deaths in Iraq: "That's just a number."

Or Bush when asked about the man behind the 9/11 attacks: "I don't think about him that much."

When do republicans stop latching onto every scrap that falls on the floor and actually start trying to defend some of their own actions?

I chose to enlist in the Army and am proud of that decision regardless of my feelings on the war in Iraq. The perception around my unit is that Kerry is calling us idiots. You kow what's ironic? If your unit can't understand that his comments were about the president and the troops, then they *are* a bit idiotic.
So says the parrot.

Even after reviewing the entire video with an open mind I was unable to determine which way Kerry was going with the comment.

Even if we give that douchebag Kerry the benefit of the doubt, you still missed Willie's entire point: Perception is everything.

Viewing the video with an open mind ....... then calling him a douchebag in the next sentence. Somehow, that seems to be a bit conflicting.

Not really. Having an open mind means not being hasty is making judgments and hearing all sides of a discussion before weighing in. It does *NOT* mean being void of any and all opinions. I think Kerry proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, in the 2004 campaign and beyond, that he is the quintessential douche bag. He's even more out of touch with reality than the current kook in the WH. :)

not really.. if you close your eyes and listen to the entire video clip, which I've done several times now. I'm tellin ya, if it really was a "botched joke," then man, he REALLY botched the hell out of it! that entire portion of the speech is awkward and it's unclear as to whether or not he was continuing with another one-liner about Bush or actually beginning his serious discussion on education... Just prior to the "joke" was a statement that he wished to start talking about Education...

whatever the case, one doesnt need to like the source to listen with an open ear in order to establish the context of a statement.

Personally, I did a little more. I wrote and recorded this song.

Who's Watching Over Who's Watching Over You?

Words and Music by Harvey Rubens
Copyright 2006

Verse 1:

I see men looking over their shoulder,
Running hard just trying to stay alive,
And they say that it's gonna get colder before it gets better.

At the time of the crime, who believed us?
We all took a fall on the ride,
When the powers that be had deceived us to leave us the debtor.

Chorus:

And who's watching over who's watching over you?
Tell me who's telling you what to do what to do?

Verse 2:

All the forces of war were compelling,
And blacker than Colin, the Knight,
And the lies they were telling, they sell in the name of their savior.

They silence the voices arising,
From those who would show us the light.
With their guys with their spies in the skies watching you and your neighbor.

Chorus:

Verse 3:

I see men who are trying to squeeze us,
And taking whatever they can,
While they buy those who try to appease us with scraps from their table.

It gets harder each day to break even.
This wasn't a part of my plan.
Time is right to be fighting or leaving this tower of Babel.

Chorus:
It may turn out to be no more effective than discussing it with mindless neocon sycophants like you, but at least, it's something more and different, and at least I'm trying.

Actually, this administration and republicans used the lives of americans and Iraqis to further their agenda for the past 5 years... I think causing their deaths is more important than merely pointing them out.

Sometimes I'm so good it's scary... Dems throw Kerry under the bus

A few Democratic candidates joined Republicans Wednesday in pressing John Kerry to apologize for a comment critics said appeared disrespectful of U.S. troops as several Kerry campaign appearances were canceled.
"Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said," said Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr., running for Senate in Tennessee.

"Sen. Kerry's remarks were poorly worded and just plain stupid," said Montana Senate President Jon Tester, a Democrat trying to unseat GOP Sen. Conrad Burns. "He owes our troops and their families an apology."

"I'm sorry he did what he did. But I think the issue ... we want to make sure it doesn't confuse the subject of the war in Iraq," Democratic Rep. Ben Cardin, running for Senate in Maryland, said on CNN.

Harold Ford's full statement was almost word for word what I posted here. I can't find it anywhere though... I'll keep looking. Ben Cardin stole my opening line! Heh...

I think a lot of people threw him under the buss after he lost to Bush. I voted for him, but I agree he's somewhat of a douche bag. Of course, I knew that when I voted for him.

Leftwing blog that didn't get the memo -- it was supposed to be a joke about the president.

Kerry then told the students that if they were able to navigate the education system, they could get comfortable jobs - ?If you don?t, you get stuck in Iraq,? he said to a mixture of laughter and gasps.

Talk about speaking the stark truth to students who want more out of life. The education system in California is a mess, especially in L.A. County. Each day I pick my daughter up at school I see the recruiters leaving, smiling because they have snagged another kid who?s trapped by the system and sees no future other than enlisting. It shouldn?t be like this. A 50% drop out rate is unacceptable. What is the bottom line for these kids, a job at McDonald?s or Iraq. Kudos to Kerry for delivering a wake up call to the young voters at the rally.
