Well, by that reasoning you may also ask if there are doctors who perform surgery. That too is mentioned in the oath as something better left to others.

I don't understand the argument you're making here. The oath taken by doctors is not necessarily the "original" version, nor is the oath required to be a doctor or considered binding in full even by all those who take it.

The intent as far as I understand is to remind a doctor of his or her moral duty as a physician. I imagine many of those doctors have no trouble reconciling that moral duty with performing an abortion on a female patient, for a variety of reasons.

Some religious folks refuse to use medicine at all, why cater to a few people with poorly thought out black and white thinking fed to them by politics instead of rationality and science?

Because letting 15 year olds become mothers is rational.

And really it is more like 1/2 of people not just a few.

And I bet a fair number of the rest are the "well I personally consider it wrong, but I dont want tell a woman what to do" folks.

On one hand most abortions are done before the infant is viable, when it is just a mass of cells, on the other hand their are abortions done after the infant is viable even when it is healthy. I don't see much of a difference between aborting a 35 week old fetus and killing a 1 day old baby.

There have always been unwanted pregnancies, and as a result, there have always been abortions and abortion attempts. Even before abortion was a legal choice, there were abortions.

Physicians make sure the woman's life and health are protected and safe.

So why the outrage over the case of forced abortion in China?

I doubt their would be any outrage over forced cavity fillings.

The problem is some abortions are done after viability, for no reason other than the mother doesn't want the baby. A 35 week old fetus is basically a baby now.
