Hey, doesn't work for everyone!

But the difference was so noticeable, that I can't see why non-native VSR resolution would appeal to anybody! 1800p VSR on a 1080p display looks awful. Would a 16:10 display be better? Or is it my monitor itself? No idea.

VSR is really good for games that lack proper AA. I can't stand the blurry post AA methods and so super sampling is a godsend.

It's also great to use with a post AA as the blurring is reduced as it's area of influence is reduced.
The additional gradient information from Post AA also can give more pleasing edges to just using SSAA. (whatever version one uses. ;))

I'm past the peasantry 1080p resolution. Will have to look into it and see what can be done with ultrawide and VSR.

I've been using VSR in MMO's like guild wars 2 since I'm CPU bound at seemingly every resolution :3 If performance dips I just limit the amount of people the game draws. It helps feed my online narcissism when I'm the only person on screen.
Never tried dsr on my laptop though.

Are there really this few Nvidia users on this forum?

I wouldn't be surprised. A Lot of them left when the AMD Advocacy program started to become rampant. At least that's when I noticed the NV side becoming less vocal. You had the usual's like Keys (but even he rarely posts now), but some of the others are definitely absent in the day to day posting.

Yeah, there seems to be some turnover but a good number of the strongest NV advocates are still posting. I think it's more that a lot of the less vocal ones aren't posting, while the AMD side gained posters and I don't think many left besides Russian.

I'm past the peasantry of fixed monitors and 2D experiences, but I will be looking into it for VR.

That's a good summary of it. We still got a good portion of the NV-hardcore, but definitely the more casual guys are gone. At least the ones I'd often exchange with I sported an AMD card.

Thank you My Lord for your attention.
Now, let me get back to looking at these blocky pixels screwed into a wall.

I use DSR quite frequently. Any singleplayer, adventure, or open world title I send to my TV @ 1440P. Bought the XB1 dongle and a controller, most new games have full controller support from the get go too. Rise of the Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, and Mad Max have been my most recent titles played using DSR (980 Ti).

Though some games simply do not look 'good' with DSR, I've noticed. Not sure if it has something to do with the 13 tap gaussian filter method that Nvidia uses to sample. In phantom pain, DSR makes landscape look awfully blurry and less detailed, especially in the desert. Which is 90% of the game...

You threw out the superiority complex first. Sometimes people need to be reminded to have more tact.

It is sad that my comment was funny only for me.

Turns out I can't VSR my 2560x1080 into anything... ;/

Crying shame you can't VSR with an ultrawide, I was hoping to get even more quality in Warframe because I'm out of settings to increase.

And the PCMR peasants talk is kind of grating and way overplayed tbh.

I just can't see how you only utilize 1440p...
I mean, if you drop 1-2 settings that don't add to IQ at all, you can massively improve IQ with DSR.

What games are you playing/played over the last 6 months? I mean, we're talking about two 980tis... at 1440p... that's a joke for those beast cards.

I'm playing 1440p with an R9 390 on most games I play. Crossfire R9 390s, you'd NEVER see me touch 1440p.

I understand what you are saying. I have a lot of power and it would be silly not to see what it can do. I will try some DSR goodness in some games. Over the last 6 months I have played mostly BF4 of course, but I also finished Crysis 3 and Far Cry 4. Recently I have been playing a lot of Rocket League.
I shy away from DSR because I want the most FPS I can get for my 144hz monitor, but there are plenty of games that you don't need that much FPS. I'll try it out. Crysis 3 was badass by the way. People said it was "just a tech demo" but I say BS. That game was awesome as hell IMO.

Ya I mean I'd favor high frame frames on games but I imagine there are games those twin 980tis will destroy even with dsr. Let us know how it goes, twin high end cards need to be pushed to their sweet beautiful limits in every way possible.

Warframe is such an amazingly pretty game. Especially since its free to play. Its got one of the most optimized engines I've seen. That and patching is awesome and similar to GW2 with live patches.

Gameplay is damn fun too.
