he was their founder.

He as the co-founder of one group of Crips. Not the whole nationwide thing. He couldn't have ever forseen how big it got. He and his friends were terrorizing one LA neighborhood. That whole crew is probably locked up/dead at this point. All the young kids on the street don't give a ****** about what some 51 year old guy did back in the 70s

Just got breaking news from one of the local affiliates, he was pronounced dead a few minutes ago.

A few MINUTES ago? It takes a freakin half hour to die from lethal injection?!

It takes something in the 5-7 minute range to die from lethal injection. But the process of getting him onto the bed and strapping him down, etc probably didn't start until 12:01. They also give it way more time than necessary to make sure the person is dead. Probably waited at least 15 minutes before sending a medical examiner in to confirm it. Then you've got the time it takes for the prison to give the information to the news.... etc

According to CNN's article, it took the medical personnel around 20 minutes to find a vein to inject the chemicals. That explains why it took so long to pronounce him.

I was wondering if that story I'd heard today was from a legit source or not. Guess it is. I'd heard that he actually had to help them locate a vein (I guess he would know where it was...)

How can you be scared of a person who the police have already strapped down to a table?

actually there is some contraversy on if he really started it or just claimed to start it. Other long time members are saying he didnt start it he just made it big.

He bragged for years and years and years that he did found the crips. Then when it made a difference at his sentencing, he changed his story... one of many changes to many stories.

He changed his story? Why is it that he's the only one giving credit to himself for starting the crips? Everybody else gives credit to some other guy.

I think convicted murderers should be put to death way sooner than 25 years and I don't think anyone should get life in prison. Either reform them and kick them out or kill them off if their crime was too horrible for them to be able to reform.

Nik - I agree with you 100% here.

If I had a name like "tookie", I'd create a gang to protect me too from all the people wanting to beat me up for having a stupid name.

As do I, but your going to be killing a lot of people since reform is not likely. Most criminals are repeat offenders, prison doesn't change that either.

So what if it were accidental like the one where someone was playing with a gun and it went off. Should they be killed as well?

Isn't he dead already? At least they said he was on the news this morning.

Maybe it's all a really big conspiracy. He's really not dead. They let him swim out through a sewer pipe or something and he's now out spreading holiday cheer dressed up as a Santa Claus on Main Street somewhere. It is California after all! LOL

Merry Christmas! :)
