On and off ... when I'm in a good exercise routine, I generally do, but when I fall off the wagon for a while I forget.

I'd rather get the benefits of fish oil without eating fish. Don't be a dumbfuck.

I smoke cigarettes so get my daily dose of nicotine. Sure I could get it in pill form, but I don't think our pill popping culture is healthy.

Multivitamin.
Anything beyond that and all you get is expensive urine.

I'm also all for taking Glucosamine, Chondroitin and the likes if you have joint pain or whatever else. It helps to find a solution for the problem and not just cover it up with pain pills :)

food from the water is disgusting.

seafood, lakefood... no thanks. I'll take a pill.

Oh and Omega 3s are far better for you than just aiding your heart. Omega 3 and Omega 6 EFAs can help with LDL/HDL ratios, and they are part of the process for cell construction iirc (as is cholesterol and other lipids, it's what our cells are made of), and is implicated to be a large player in CNS development, and not enough from the diet might create favorable conditions for neurotransmitter imbalances (imbalances of various NTs lead to a variety of mental issues/conditions), and who knows how great the effects of EFA deficiencies truly are, could be numerous general symptoms or non-symptomatic problems that we as of yet have no true known cause for.
Our body does depend fairly heavily on us providing a balanced diet, which includes the ingredients in the ratios needed for certain functions. Need the right ingredients in to get proper energy, focus, tissue growth/repair, and we are definitely fucking up the EFAs with the modern animal foods.

Sorry man, that sucks. My Mom is anemic now and it's rough on her.

KT

I have been anemic for most of my life. Have never felt any effect though. Just get told this when I get a blood test.

This last year, I started eating a few leaves of green leafy lettuce each morning (boston or romaine lettuce). My energy levels have increased and blood iron levels are in the normal range.

i just started yesterday. the ones i bought were a Centrum knockoff. i don't eat very well, so I figured a daily multivitamin couldn't hurt. *shrug*

cool story eh

it would be a whole lot cooler if you told us that it changed your urine smell/color.

well, he's somewhat right. most vitamins, fish oil, whatever, aren't metabolized when taken in pill form, or taken with food and in proper amounts.

I think the vast majority of vitamins consumed are simply pissed out of people, never utilized in any way.

Fish is certainly better, because it will be more readily processed.

I take a multi plus a big honking C. I figure C cures/prevents everything.

I read the labels on the multis to make sure they don't contain chrome, selenium, americium, or other heavy metals I don't really need to supplement in my diet.

Yes. But not all vitamins you get at the store are created equal. Some are barely if at all usable by your body.
